Young Avengers - Private School Revived
A bright light lay ahead. It was vibrant and blinding like the sun, but not completely solid - it twinkled and shimmered like illuminant glitter. A great abyss lay everywhere else, but its blackness could be stepped on and played with. A young man floated through the empty space - which felt thick around him - and approached the light. He willed it to be softer, and surprisingly it yielded to his wishes.
"Am I dreaming?" he thought, or said, it was hard to tell. It was difficult for him to tell all the time. All of his dreams were lucid dreams, but that didn't mean his brain could always tell. Perhaps he spent far too much time sleeping and not enough acting.
The boy reached the light after crawling and clawing through a void. He reached up and touched the light, and once he did it became a massive black hole, immediately sucking him inside. The young man soared through what he could only describe as a worm hole, zipping through time and space until he was finally dropped into the middle of a metal chamber with lightning bolts flashing all around him. He was in the eye of a tiny storm with wind whipping about and electricity sparkling around him.
"Shut it off!"
"Mr. Jackson," came an authoritative voice from the front of the room. Damien's head shot up and surveyed his surroundings in a panic. He had totally forgotten that he was at school.
"You may be in class everyday according to attendance," began his teacher, Mr. Worthington, "but as far as I'm concerned you are always absent."
"I'm sorry, sir," Damien sighed, brushing a few long curly locks of hair out of his face and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He shook his head once or twice and yawned.
"If I catch you sleeping one more time today I'm going to be forced to put you in detention," Mr. Worthington said sternly. He meant it. He always did...
Damien said nothing. The young man simply shuffled through his papers in an awkward manner and tried to at least look like he was paying attention. Third hour and he was already falling asleep... or should that be normal? Tired right before lunch? It didn't matter, really, school just wasn't his thing. Damien Jackson knew it just as well as everyone else in his classes that he would be falling asleep during every hour but lunch.
Jackson, in attempting to entertain himself well enough to stay awake, stared intently at a blank piece of paper on his desk. He grabbed the paper, held it firmly, and bent it. Not folded - bent. He bent it so that it flung back to its original state. Damien imagined the paper was metal, that it bent, much like he did with all his dreams. Again, it simply flung back to normal. Oh, if only.
"...isn't that right, Mr. Jackson?"
"Huh?" Damien glanced up at his teacher, slightly dumbfounded.
"I thought so," Mr. Worthington said condescendingly. A few kids giggled. Damien ignored the jeer but still flushed with embarassment. He tried to shove it off, but being made fun of still got to him. Frustrated now, but trying to hide it, Damien continued to bend the paper back and forth.
Hungry. He thought. Tired. God... DAMNIT.
Damien let go of the paper and sighed, glancing off in the distance. When his eyes returned to his desk, he noticed that the paper was suspended in its bend... as if it was a molded piece of metal. Shocked and surprised, Damien set his palm on the paper and it flattened back to normal.
Rrrrrrring!
The kids were quick to rush out of the room and Damien was no different. He slipped through the crowd of children, his moderately long, jaw-length hair occasionally getting snagged on some one's piercing.
"They aren't supposed to be wearing those," he thought. Dumb school. He made it to his locker, entered the combination, then lightly punched it after it didn't work. A little bit of patience later, Damien got the locker open and shoved his books inside. Fourth hour was his lunch hour, and as far as he was concerned - the best hour. Quick to get to his place of solitude, Damien slammed the door shut and immediately turned to his right, promptly walking into another student who was leaning on a locker talking with some friends.
Unfortunately for both of them, the student that Damien collided with was right in the middle of drinking a soda. Unable to predict the collision, the student spilled the soda all over himself and Damien.
"What the... hell?" The other student wiped the fizzing fluid from his face and glared angrily at Damien.
"I'm sorry," replied Damien, attempting to leave before something worse happened. The other student grabbed him by the shoulder and prevented a swift exit.
"You owe me another soda," he said. "And a shirt." This kid was bigger... not by too much, but definitely enough to make fighting a terrible option for Damien. The student tore Damien's lunch from his hands and rummaged through it.
"Hey thats my-"
"Orange juice? What, did mommy pack this lunch for you?"
"No," Damien responded softly, furrowing his brow. A few other students started to take notice of this spectacle. Damnit... he just wanted to go to lunch.
"Sure," the kid chuckled, still searching for something tasty to steal. "What the hell. This is worthless."
"Then I'd appreciate it if I could have it back," Damien said softly, trying to make sure the people walking around couldn't understand him.
"Come on, Rick, lets just go to lunch," one of the bully's friends chimed in.
"Just a sec," Rick said, lifting one hand. "Look, kid, don't forget you owe me, all right?"
"Whatever," Damien murmured, looking away at some random object on the wall and waiting for his lunch.
"Did you hear me, momma's boy?" Damien flinched at the insult. Apparently this kid was unaware of Damien's lack of a mother. That, or Damien was underestimating this boy's cruelty.

Kody watched from his locker not far away, "Damn bullies," he muttered to himself. He put the last book in his locker before he grabbed a brown paper bag and closed the locker as he turned. Once he closed the door, Kody turned and leaned back against his locker and rummaged through his bag. "Hmm," he mused aloud, "Soda...Ham sandwich...chips..," he then paused, "Dammit, Mom. Always forgets my fruit snacks."
Kody then closed the bag and made his way to lunch but as he did he passed the scene in front of him and locked eyes with one of the bullies as he past. He hated bullies, always had, ever since he was little he used to be picked on but as he grew he learned to defend himself so he never let anyone try to bully him around again. "Why don't you guys just move on," he interjected, "there's no need to bother this kid."

Dani sat in the lunchroom glancing at her watch, "Where the hell is that kid?" she asked to no one in particular. For the third time this week, Kody was running late to lunch. Dani and Kody were neighbors ever since they were 7 years old and they had even gone to the same school even thought Dani was a year younder than Kody. As she waited she ziped open the minicooler in front of her and pulled out her lunch, a small salad, a water, and an apple.
Given Dani's apperance, she could have eaten anything but she was a bit of a health nut so she mainly stuck with fruits and vegetables much to the disgust of Kody. For being such close friends, they were at times very opposite. Dani jokingly would call Kody her big carnivore beacuase of his patented "all meat" diet. But, on the flip side Kody, much to the chagrin of Dani, called her a little rabbit beacause of her veggie diet. However, for now at least, all Dani could do was eat her lunch and hope Kody wasn't doing anything stupid.

He rolled up to the school on his motorcycle. As always, the girls gave him some nice looks, and he pretended not to notice. He climbed off his ride and put out the kickstand, taking his helmet off as he did. He had black hair and vibrant, green eyes. He could hear the girls giggle as he walked past. He allowed a small grin to form at the corner of his mouth. As he stepped through the doors he unzipped his leather jacket, revealing a white t-shirt underneath.
Though he missed Las Vegas, he had to admit that New York had some definite hotties. He and his parents had only moved three weeks ago, so he didn't know many people at school yet. As far as he could tell, he didn't really want to get to know any of the guys. Most of them were ridiculous. They all thought they were hot stuff. He had just put his helmet in his locker when he took notice of the confrontation down the hall. Some bully was picking on another kid, but it also looked like someone else was stepping to help. He walked over there and stepped up behind the guy named Kody. He was one of the few people who's name he could remember.

Rick was loving the extra attention. Damien could read it through the smile on his face. There were a good six or seven people around them now, not enough to make it a crowd, but certainly enough to make Jackson feel like a source of entertainment. Course, Rick ate that up, but Damien preferred to remain unseen.
“C’mon, Rick,” the bully’s friend said impatiently. Rick shrugged, an over-exaggerated expression on his face that read, ‘I give up.’ He held out the lunch bag and motioned for Damien to take it.
Hesitantly, Jackson reached out with one hand - he half-expected Rick to pull it away but he didn’t - and grabbed hold of the bag. As Damien pulled the bag back toward himself, Rick tore away a junk of the paper and the contents of the lunch spilled onto the floor.
“There,” Rick said, “we’re even.”
“My lunch,” Damien whispered to himself, others only able to see the subtle movement of his lips. His lunch… the only joy of the day. The only escape from the mundane. The only place he could walk away from the crowds of kids and enjoy a moment of solitude. Now he was embarrassed, forced to confront some child with self-esteem issues, and made a spectacle of in front of several students he was hoping to remain invisible in front of. Damien crumpled up the remnants of the paper bag into a ball, then clenched his fist with the contents inside.
“Well, gotta run, kid. Enjoy your lunch,” taunted the older boy.
Of all the movies, of all the shows, of all the books, of all the stereotypes of bullies, hooligans, and thugs out there, why oh why do stupid kids still act like asses to one another? What happened during this boy’s childhood to make him so idiotic in such a sadistic why? Why must he feed off attention and pain? Damien was furious. The whole rest of his day was ruined because one accident made some stupid muscle head “crack down” on him.
Jackson wasn’t sure what he was thinking - he just acted. Flexing his arm with rage, he threw the paper ball at the back of Rick’s head. As harmless as it should have been, the paper ball hit Rick as if it were a golf ball. Rick yelped in pain and spun around, one of his eyes squinting shut as he willed the sudden headache to dissipate. The paper ball bounced down the hallway, oddly enough.
“You… son of a…” Rick charged forward, his right hand cocked back and ready. Damien tensed his whole body, flexed his stomach muscles, and readied himself for the hit he knew was coming. Jackson thought of himself as being in a stone room with no windows and no door. He was protected, shielded from the pain of outside. No one could touch him from the other side of the wall.
“GAH!” Damien felt a slight tap right at his solar plexus the moment Rick released a painful scream. Jackson stared at Rick, completely shocked by the sight of the bigger boy cradling his fist. He gingerly opened his hand, wincing and touching his knuckles as he did so.
"Why don't you guys just move on," a random bystander interjected, "there's no need to bother this kid."
“What the hell…” Damien whispered, touching his stomach and feeling a perfectly normal shirt. Rick, now on the spot, cocked back his left fist instead. Damien was still examining his shirt while Rick’s second punch soared for his nose.
”This one’s gonna hurt,” Damien thought, but the pain never came. A larger boy stepped in at the last second, apparently drawing the line after Rick became violent. The young man caught Rick off guard, deflected his punch, and pushed him away. Damien sighed with relief.
“That’s enough,” stated Damien’s knight in shinning armor.
“Up yours, Lynch,” Rick said distastefully and wandered off with the friends that were waiting for him. Rick still nursed his knuckles…
Damien bent down and scooped up the ruined items of his lunch.
“Looks like I’m buying today,” Jackson sighed.

The birth of Sadist
Where the hell am I?
Consciousness. The first thoughts. Very basic, but also very crucial.
Where am I?
In the darkness an answer was not easily found. He asked himself again… then again. Quickly, a panic set in. His hands were bound, his legs were bound, and his mouth was covered. He could feel a wooden chair against his back and butt. It was odd… and uncomfortable, because he was so attached to the chair that he was forced to sit up. A rope was around his ribs, restricting his breathing and increasing the panic. The man struggled for a breath, forced himself to calm down.
Calm down…
If he didn’t - he’d die.
Calm down, John. Calm down.
He thought his own name as he spoke to himself. It was a clever way to trick oneself into feeling less alone. Speak in the third person - remove yourself from the situation.
Where were you last? What is your last memory?
There was an ache inside his head. John must have suffered a concussion before he was brought to his current location. He struggled to remember… but he just couldn‘t. Why the hell was he here?
The only trace of light in the room came from a tiny crack underneath the door. A shadow passed by coupled with the sound of boots stomping against a solid floor. Was some one coming? No… some one was going. The sound of boots became softer.
They’re coming back..
John thought. A soft thump seemed to sound from the distance. His eye burned as sweat and blood mixed together to form a steady stream. The thumping grew louder and John tensed, losing control of his breath again. They’re going to get him… they’re going to burst through that door and finish him off. Or worse… they’ll torture him - cut out his eyes, pierce his tongue, burn his genitals, disembowel him… oh God, what do they want??
False alarm. The thumping grew louder but the shadow did not return. No… no, it was just his heart. John’s chest rose and fell, his stomach too tied down to extend with his diaphragm. His breaths were shallow, weak, and done in rapid succession. Without being able to completely open up his diaphragm, it was impossible for John to take a deep breath.
Take a deep breath!
His mind would say.
I can’t!
The curiosity was beginning to kill him. Sure, it was hot, his head buzzed like a bee hive, his clothes were soaked with sweat, and he couldn’t breathe, but the mystery of why he was transported to this unknown location was driving him mad.
Did he have any enemies? No… not really. Did he have any information of great value? Not that he knew of…
Thump.
Was that his heart? No. No it wasn’t. He could still hear his heart, but this new thumping replaced it. Then there was a shadow… it stopped just outside his door at the same time the thumping stopped.
No…go away…
His curiosity immediately vanished. John lost all interest in why he was there. He just wanted to go home, make sure his wife was okay, and get back to routine life. Forget all this… wake up!
This is a dream…
The door creaked open - slowly, painfully. In stepped a tall man dressed in a cheap suit with a bottle in his hand. That’s all John could make out from the dim light that washed inside. The man said nothing. He let the door shut half way and strutted into the darkness. A squeal sounded - the kind of squeal that a wooden chair makes when it scrapes against a tile floor.
John didn’t even try to say something. His mouth was taped up. He could hear a rustling ahead of him, but could not make out what was happening until a match lit. The anonymous man was sitting down in front of a small table and had pulled a matchbox from his coat and lit one. Now he was using it to light a cigarette already resting between his lips. He lit the small cancer stick, took a puff, and shook the match until the fire died and just a tiny whiff of smoke remained.
Please God, let this man be a cop.
The mysterious man pulled on a chain that switched on a tiny, pathetically weak lamp dangling from the ceiling. The light, inside of what looked like an upside-down funnel, shined down directly on the table and chair beneath it. The man’s face was a little more clear now, but shadows corrupted his features. He was young, maybe late twenties, with straight brown hair that was long enough to cover his ears.
“Do you know who I am?” he asked, leaning back in the chair and taking another puff. John shook his head. The mystery man leaned forward again and removed the cigarette from his mouth, holding it between his index and middle fingers. “The name’s Jim.”
At the sound of the word “Jim,” the strange man blew out a large cloud of smoke that had been resting in his lungs.
“You’re wondering why you’re here, right?” Jim asked, tapping his cigarette with his thumb so the extra ash on the end fell into the ash tray.
John nodded his head.
“Unfortunately for me, I have a problem. Even more unfortunately for you, we are going to have to share this problem.”
Jim grabbed the bottle that he had walked in with. It was about half full with vodka. Jim unscrewed the cap and took a big swig of it. He exhaled sharply.
“I’ve got one bad f---ing headache,” he said with a slight chuckle. Once he finished laughing, Jim took another drag of his cigarette. “You’re an MD, John.”
John hesitantly nodded.
“Don’t worry, I know what you’re thinking. Your expertise is in research,” Jim went on. John nodded again. “Well, today’s your lucky day.”
Jim took another swig of liquor, then another drag of smoke. This time he slammed the bottle against the table. John flinched at this - he had thought such force would have shattered the bottle… but it didn’t.
“Hahaha, a little nervous?” Jim shouted, laughing like a mad man. Like? No, he was a mad man. He had the eyes. He had the eyes absent of conscious. This man was quite clearly a psychopath.
John was beginning to wonder how this could possibly be his lucky day.
Jim stood up, smashed the tip of his cigarette into the ash tray, and quickly removed his jacket and set it on the back of his chair.
“It’s hot in here, huh?” Jim was wearing a shoulder holster that had been masked by the jacket. Inside the black rig was a silver pistol that reflected in the dim light. Jim unbuckled the holster and removed the pistol.
John felt the panic rising again. His breathing increased, his heart pumped, and his head pounded with pain. He couldn’t control his breathing… not even to save his life. John closed his eyes, fought with himself, shook the chair as well.
“Oh come on, now, John!” Jim laughed hysterically. “This is ridiculous.”
The mysterious man firmly grabbed John by the chin and held his head in place. Air frantically zipped in and out of his nostrils, the occasional spray of mucus escaping as well. Of course, John’s face was so covered in sweat, blood, saliva, and mucus… it was hard to tell exactly what fluid was what.
“I’ve got a real bad head ache,” Jim said, squeezing John’s chin until his nails cut into the flesh of his face. Becoming more and more riled up by John’s panic, Jim placed the barrel of the pistol, a simple M9 berretta, against John’s temple. “It hurts. Right… here…”
Jim pressed the barrel in harder, causing John to shiver with terror.
“Haha, you’re a riot, John,” Jim said, removing the pistol from his captive’s head and taking a step back. Jim chuckled a few more times.
He is truly enjoying this…
“Oh, man,” Jim sighed. The pain… it subsided a bit. He became serious again. Stared straight at John, waited for the doctor’s eyes to open and meet his, then he lunged forward and spread his arms wide.
“Aaaah!” Jim screamed and John flinched. The very sight of seeing John in such turmoil lessened the pain some more. Jim laughed.
“It hurts every day. All day. All the time,” Jim said matter-of-factly. He rubbed his temples for a minute, gun still in hand. John was sobbing at this point, choking on his own spit. “Oh… shove it, John. I didn’t kidnap your ass so I could kill you.”
Jim smacked his captive across the face with the butt of his pistol, the blow nearly knocking over John’s chair. Jim felt the pain completely vanish, and he was left in a sweet moment of ecstasy. Of course, it would only last for about sixty seconds.
What does he want!?
John wished that he could speak so that he could find some way to appease this sadist. He didn’t need to, though. Jim told him.
“You’re gonna help cure me, doc.”
Consciousness. The first thoughts. Very basic, but also very crucial.

Kody watched the others walk away, "Bastards," he muttered under his breath.
“Looks like I’m buying today,” Jackson sighed.
Kody laughed as he put his hand on Damien's shoulder, "Here," he said giving him his own bagged lunch, "you take this, I got a few extra bucks to get something. Besides, I'm meeting a friend who I can mooch off of."
Then it hit him, "Damn!" he cursed himself, "Sorry man, I'm late to meet someone in the lunch room."
As Kody turned to go towards the lunch room he looked back, "Why don't you come eat with us? We got plenty of room." It was then he noticed James behind him, "Hey man, the invite's open to you too. The more the merrier," Kody smirked.

“Are you serious?”
Damien looked down at the free lunch he’d just been given. As unfortunate as the day had begun, he was turning out to be pretty darn lucky.
Kody looked him right in the eye - a look of total acceptance. That kind of acceptance was rare, and Damien felt like an idiot for wanting to pass that up. Kody had announced that he was late… Damien didn’t want him to wait…
’Just go, you big coward!’ Damien could hear his own conscious speaking to him. That little patch of grass by the tree just outside that no one ever hung out by still seemed like the perfect place.
’Oh… what the hell. Why not.’
“Sure,” Damien piped up finally. “Yeah.”
With a nod of his head, Jackson let a smile creep out.
“Why not? My name is Damien, Damien Jackson.”
The lunch room lines had all but vanished by the time they got there. It took no time at all to grab some grub - however, they had completely run out of hotdogs and taco salad.
The room was filled with a dull roar of students talking, laughing, and horsing around. Kody made eye contact with a girl who was already sitting and moved in her direction. Damien recognized her - vaguely. He knew she was a freshmen but had never heard her name before. She looked like she was in a pleasant mood, but all the same she gave Kody a dirty look for being late.
“Uh, you know her?” Damien half-whispered to Kody before they were within hearing range of Dani. Jackson was a little surprised to see her by herself. Yeah, he knew very little about her, but he assumed things. For whatever reason, Damien had thought she’d be at the student government table, maybe with the preps or something.
’Probably just stereotyping pretty girls…’ he thought. Gotta work on that…

Kody grinned as he returned Damien's comment, "Yea," he said making a motion towards Dani, "I do know her." However, Kody's grin soon subsided as he got closer to Dani who at the time had a slight scowl on her face.
"Ya know," Kody said as he sat, "you have the cutest little nose wrinkle when you're mad."
Dani of course was not impressed, "You're late. Again." She then reopened her salad and began to eat it before she asked, "So are you going to introduce your friend or just sit there like a goon until you mooch my food?"
Kody stuck out his tounge at her as he turned. "This is Damien, Damien Jackson. Damien, this is Dani."
Dani smiled widley as she extended your hand, "Pleasure to met you. So, if you don't mind, how did you come to know Kody? Probably ran into him while he was doing something stupid."
Kody then glared at her before he answered, "Actually there was a fight in the hallway that I tried to stio but Damien here really didn't need my help." Kody put his hand on hi shoulder and added, "Took a punch from some punk bully like it was nothing, pretty impressive."

Damien returned Dani's smile with an awkward grin of his own - to be honest, he wasn't used to smiling... neither from him or at him. He shook her hand and it felt soft to the touch, but her grip was firm and full of energy.
"He's being nice," Jackson admitted for Kody. "Rick... Darris, I think? I'm not sure. Destroyed my lunch and punched me in the stomach. I didn't plan on hitting back - if it wasn't for Kody here, I'd probably be in the nurse's office with a concussion. Don't think I could have taken a hit to head!" Damien took a bite out of Kody's ham sandwich, a hint of guilt hitting him for some odd reason. This Kody Lynch - why was he being so nice? It seemed so rare to Damien... as an outsider, to be treated with respect even though he'd done nothing to earn it. Maybe, if they ever got closer, Damien would ask him. Why...
In a hurry, Damien swallowed the bite.
"Did you ever think you'd be eating lunch with a hero, Dani?" Damien smiled again. Hmm, that was new. Another real smile.

Hal, I'm bringing you in right now! That's what you get for waiting.
I'm also setting up a situation that could give us other villains in future threads. It won't go any farther than this post. Just FYI.
IC:
James thanked Kody for the invite before declining. He had all ready eaten and didn't really want to just sit at the lunch table and do nothing. He was interested in what he had just seen. That kid had taken a hard blow to stomach without so much as flinching. Not to mention Rick pulling his fist away in pain afterwards. Either this kid Damien had abs of steel, which was highly unlikely, or there was something else up with that guy.
Just as he was about to step through the doors that led outside to the basketball courts he heard an all to familiar sound. There was a ringing coming from his pocket, almost like a bell. However, the noise bothered him much less than the bright green light that kept showing through his jeans. He did his best to cover it with his hand as he darted into the bathroom and found an empty stall. He reached into his jeans and pulled out a green ring.
He hated the damn thing. At first, it was awesome. Like something out of a science fiction movie this ring had shot down at him from space like a comet. It had spoke to him, telling him that because of his great courage he was to become one of the first new Green Lanterns assigned to space sector 2814. At the time, he thought it was cool. But then he put the ring on and accidentally, through experimentation with his new toy, ended up destroying an office building in downtown Manhattan. He was still shocked that he had gotten away without anyone noticing him. But now he had to carry the ring with him everywhere he went because if he left it somewhere it would fly to him no matter where he was. This, of course, would have been a difficult thing to explain to someone if they had seen it. So now it went everywhere with him. He just didn't wear it.
The ring continued to beep at him before it shot out a green image of another ring shooting down through earth's atmosphere. Though he tried to silence it, it spoke.
"James Hunter of space sector 2814. A Qwardian power ring has been identified entering Earth's atmosphere. Immediate action is needed."
James just stared at the ring.
"What the hell is a Qwardian power ring?!"
The ring beeped again and an image of a red skinned man wearing a yellow ring showed up.
"The Qwardian power ring is similar to the Oan power ring used by the Green Lantern Corps. However, the Qwardian ring uses fear to power it while the Oan ring uses willpower. The Qwardian power rings were the official weapon of all members of the Sinestro Corps."
James almost asked what the Sinestro Corps were but decided he really didn't care that much. He just wanted to shut the thing up.
"Fine. Great. Thanks for the warning. Now be quiet!"
The incident with the ring had put him in a rather foul mood. Of course, that was amplified as soon as he left the bathroom. There he was, standing near the dark talking to a beautiful girl. This guy was the only other person in the school that might have been as self centered as James himself. And there was simply not room for two alpha males in the same place. James walked up to the pair and gave the girl a wink. She grinned, obviously loving the attention she was getting from the two guys. Hunter turned his attention to his rival. He didn't hate him, but they certainly weren't friends by any means.
"John Nuzzolillo. I didn't see you're cocky ass in math this morning. Whats wrong? Finally given up on trying to pass your classes?"

Dani gave a slight grin as she looked to Kody, "A hero, huh?"
This of couse made Kody strike a slight pose as he did a not so obvious flex, "Yea, just doing what I can." He then began to laugh until Dani threw her apple at him, almost hitting him in the nose. Luckily Kody's reflexes snapped in quick enough to catch it; then in the course of the next two seconds, he took a large bite and said, "Very funny." But, of course, with the apple in his mouth it came out very jumbled with parts of apple flying out of his mouth.
Dani tried to make a scowl but couldn't hide her laugh well, "You are soo gross." Dani then turned back to Damien, "So, Damien, how come I've never seen you around much? You seem like a nice guy."
Kody by this time had swallowed all the parts of the apple in his mouth before adding, "Yea, that's true."

Damien half shrugged.
“School has never been my fort - fortay - forte - thing. I’m not a drop out, I, you know, I, my, I’ve got a 4.13 GPA,” he said with an ironic laugh. “I just… sleep through most of my classes. I’m not in any clubs or extra-curricular activities. I show up, do what I have to do, and leave…”
Now that he had been asked the question, Damien realized that he didn’t really have a great answer. Why didn’t he like school? Why was he so anti-social? Why the hell was he always so damned tired?
“I don’t know, really,” he said finally, answering his own inner-monologue more than his two new friends. “I think mostly it’s that I have bad - poor - people, public speaking, er talking… uh,” Damien closed one eye as if it would help him find the right word. “Social skills.”
“I don’t get out much,” he chuckled awkwardly.

Dani smiled as she listened to Damien, even with his self-proclaimed lack of social skills she found him cute. "4.13, huh?" she answered, "That's really impressive."
"Much better than some people at this table," she said with a wink towards Kody.
"Shut it, Dani," Kody retorted as he took another bite of the apple. "Ya know, Damien," Kody added after swallowing the bite, "you're more than welcome to hang around with us."
He then mock whispered, "I'm sure Dani wouldn't mind."
Dani's eyes shot wide open and her face began to flush with red, "Wh-What are you talking about?"
"Nooothhinnngg," Kody said in a sing song voice, but before he could say anything else a plastic fork hit him in the face. "Oh real mature, Dani."

"Sorry, ah, didn't mean to uh, GPA drop..." Damien said, taking the classic "name-drop" term and replacing name with GPA. It seemed clever in his head. Awkwardly, like a security blanket, Damien scratched the back of his skull, even though it wasn't that itchy, and smirked.
"I'm sure Dani wouldn't mind," Kody mock whispered to Damien. Dani immediately blushed and Damien couldn't help but do the same. No... what? Kody was being silly of course. Damien knew, deep down, what he meant by that, but he couldn't help but play stupid anyhow.
"Huh?" Damien said, looking dumbfounded.
Rrrrrring!
Saved by the bell.
"That went by fast," Damien noted. "I'm sure I'll uh, see you two around some time real soon..."
(OOC: I'd post more but I gotta run out the door!)

Dani and Kody both waved as Damien turned to leave, "Don't be a stranger," Dani called after him.
Kody did his best to stiffle a laugh until Dani turned to look at him with her signature nose wrinkle, "What?"
Kody just smiled as danced in his seat, "Bow chica bow wow." This was once again answered by Dani attempting to reach across the table to slap him but luckily Kody backed away in time to stay out of her reach. In her frustration she slammed her hand on the table and what happened next no one could have expected. Once her hand hit, Kody and everything on the table was knocked back a little as if there was a wave hitting them.
"What the hell was that?" Kody asked wide-eyed.
Dani only stared at her hands, "I-I have no idea."
Luckily no one around them had noticed it so they tried to act as though nothing happened. "Dani, I'm not sure what just happened but I have to go to class but we need to talk after class."
Dani was still dumbstruck so all she could do was nod in silence. What is happening to me?

Rrrrring!
“If I wasn’t so used to it by now, that ring might start to get on my nerves,” Damien thought. It was the end of the day - Friday - and he had a short, uneventful weekend to look forward to. Jackson trudged to his locker, opened it in the same mechanical fashion as always, and put away the books he wouldn’t need. When he shut it, there was a colorful flyer taped to it that he hadn’t seen a moment ago.
“Gotta pay more attention…” he thought, curious as to why he did not notice it sooner. Sometimes Damien was way too focused on his own thoughts.
The flyer read:
OFF THE HOOK
Party of the year
9:00PM $5 Cover. Booze supplied…
A house party. Damien shoved the paper into his pocket and continued to walk toward the parking lot. Since he didn’t have a ride, Jackson would have plenty of time to think about whether or not he would attend.
The parking lot was cramped as always. Campus security was too slow to open the second gate to let the kids out, so everyone was driving to get in line at the only available exit. Funny - security, or at least administration, was so gung ho about keeping the kids trapped inside that Damien often suspected that a school such as his would be a ball for any deranged shooters.
Honk honk!
Students helplessly honked their horns at other students. Some did it out of anger, some did it because it was funny, others did it just because everyone else was. Damien squeezed through the cars and made his way to the pedestrian exit.
BOOM!
Damien could only describe the noise he heard as “a house falling down.” A car on the road collided with a student turning out of the parking lot and ramped right up its side. The vehicle spun through the air, crashed into the closed gate, and skid through several empty spaces on its ceiling.
“Oh my…God…” Damien stood up without even realizing that he had dove to the ground. There was a man inside the car, a young man probably in his early twenties, and he was obviously unconscious. Without even thinking, Damien rushed over - he was only a matter of yards away, after all, and the closest to the scene.
“Are you okay?” Damien shouted, but the man was silent. His eyes were closed and blood was trickling from his forehead.
“Crap,” Damien whispered. He could hear people screaming in the distance, but no sirens yet. “You’re gonna be all right! Just… sit.”
“He’s unconscious, he can’t hear you.”
“Damnit,” Damien cursed. The boy leaned on the upside-down vehicle and breathed heavily, tried to catch his breath. That’s when he smelled it - fire.
“What the…” he straightened his back, stiffened, and search for the source of the smoke. It was coming from the engine - the radiator maybe? Oh, Christ, Damien knew nothing about engines. Jackson quickly surveyed the situation - upside-down car, gasoline pouring all over the ground, unconscious driver, smell of fire…
Not good.
“F*&%.”
“I’m gonna get you out, okay?” Damien said fruitlessly. He pulled on the door handle but it was stuck. He pulled with all his might, even put his foot against the side of the car and pulled, but it was no good. Whatever happened in that spectacular roll had broken the mechanism on the door.
“No, no, it’s got to open,” Damien mumbled, a puddle of fluid forming around his feet.
“Get away from there!” Somebody in the distance shouted, but Jackson didn’t recognize the voice. It was older - probably school security personnel.
“How the hell am I gonna…” Damien stared the door with the broken window. The ceiling was smashed and there was no way that either of them were fitting through the window after it had been crushed. Damien set his right hand on the metal door and concentrated deeply.
“You’re a smart guy. There’s got to be a way to open this broken door.”
There’s got to be a way. Damien gently massaged the metal, felt it beneath his fingers. He felt the form and shape. He felt the imperfections and the smoothness as well. He felt the structure… the make-up… the… chemical bonds. Suddenly, with a single thought, it felt soft to the touch. Damien’s fingers were slightly submerged within the metal, making a hand-print.
“No way,” he said, but didn’t mean. Damien concentrated harder, and he felt the entire door - not just the metal beneath his hand - begin to conform to his thoughts. The door softened, nearly turned to liquid. Damien held it firmly in his hand and gently removed it from the car. The metal mechanisms that had held it in place were easily torn off as if he was pulling cheese apart. The door was light, like aluminum, and Damien had no trouble moving it aside. He set it down cautiously, then watched in awe as it hardened back to normal.
Damien would have marveled at this strange moment for far longer, but the gasoline soaking his jeans brought him back to reality. Jackson hastily unfastened the man’s seatbelt, the driver moaning a little as he began to come to, and dragged the anonymous driver out of the car. He was heavy, probably about 170 pounds, and Damien was having a hell of a time moving him.
Fwooomff!
The fire must have caught something, because it suddenly engulfed the top of the vehicle. Jackson desperately dragged the older man out of the growing gas puddle, and he did so just before it was ignited in a blaze of hellish fire.
“We’re not gonna make it,” Damien whispered, the fire growing exponentially now. “These things… always… explode…”
BOOM!
And it did. Damien hunched over, wrapped his body around this stranger and held on for dear life as a wave of fire washed over them.
“No… no… don’t… burn…”
Damien felt the tendrils of heat wrapping around them, washing over them. It touched his skin, singed his shirt. It touched him…
Then it disappeared.
Damien sat up, his clothes full of holes and his face black and dirty. The man on the ground coughed and rolled on to one side. The car sat dormant and completely destroyed.
“What the hell?” Some one shouted.
“He just saved that guy!”
“Who is that kid?”
Damien didn’t know why he reacted the way he did. He didn’t know what to do. The situation was so odd he just… he just wanted a way out. So… Jackson turned and ran.
(OOC: If anyone is interested, there was the student car in that accident too. And if some one decides to give Damien a ride home before I post him arriving, that's cool too.)

After the final bell, Kody and Dani met outside and began their walk home, "So what the hell happened earlier?" Kody asked.
Dani shrugged as she looked at her own hands, "I'm not sure I just hit the table and it felt like some kind of invisible wave shot out from it. Like when you splash water and a wave shoots out from it."
Kody looked confused, "That's weird, I wonder what caused it?" Dani glared at Kody, "Well I wouldn't be suprised it it was from me being pissed at your stupid comment."
"Alright, alright, I'm sorry. But to be honest, there something about me that has been different too." Kody added. "What do you mean?" Dani asked as she shifted her backpack.
"Well-" Kody had no time to answer as he saw a car flipping through the air towards the student parking lot. "Holy hell!" Kody blurted.
They both turned to see where the car had impacted on another student car, unfortunatly the student car had been hit with such force the engine had been torn apart and oil and other fluids were leaking everywhere.
Without thinking Kody rushed over and looked into the driverside window, there was a junior girl laying back in her seat obviously unconcious. "Hey! Can you hear me?" Kody yelled as he banged on the window. Suddenly thought, the girl snapped awake and as soons as she saw the damage to the car she began to scream and attempted furiously to get out of the car. "Relax! I'm going to get you out!" Kody screamed again.
Kody cursed as he realized the opening mechanism had been dented in pinning the door shut. By now the girl inside was banging on the window with tears in her eyes. The window muffled her screams, "The window..." Kody mused aloud. He then yelled, "Back away from the window!" and to accompany it he made motioned for her to back away. She dove into the backseat as he wound up tp punch the window, and as Kody swung his fist hit the wondow and bounced back off, "Son of a-!" Kody yelled as he cradled his fist.
He then put his left on the door to gain some leverage and swung again, however as he was in midswing the window began to frost over even though it was quite hot out. This time, as his fist hit the window shattered like a layer of ice. Once the window shattered Kody reached in and pulled the girl out and ran away from the car. "Kody!" he hear Dani yell, "the car is going to blow! Get everyone away!"
As he turned he realized he didn't have enough time so without thinking again he ran towards the car and found the place where the fuel was leaking from and extneded his hand looking for a knob to stop the flow. However, instead he felt the actual leak and grasped it and focused; suddenly he felt the wire freezing over and the leak was plugged with ice.
"Kody, you did it!" Dani screamed from the other side of the car, but her cheers were interupted by an explosion. When they both looked they saw a boy pulling a figure from the other car. "Who is that?" they both asked at the same time.
Then, as the figure ran off they both realized it was Damien, "Come on, Dani." Kody said as he took off after Damien.
"Yo! Damien! It's us, wait up!"
Dani shrugged as she looked at her own hands, "I'm not sure I just hit the table and it felt like some kind of invisible wave shot out from it. Like when you splash water and a wave shoots out from it."

Damien heard his name called and snapped back his head to see who was pursuing him. In doing so, in taking his eyes off the path ahead, Jackson was taken by surprise when his foot collided with a small, ornate brick wall only a few inches tall. This tripped him, sending his face into a bed of flowers.
“Oh God!” he shrieked right before sinking into the dirt and petals. “Why do they even have these…”
Damien sputtered, blowing some brush out of his mouth. He sat up, dusted his elbows off, and shook his long, curly hair free of dirt and foliage. Kody and Dani, probably the only people who recognized him, were now staring at him.
“Hey guys,” he said, acting nonchalant. “You surprised me - didn’t see the, thing here. Wall. Or… ledge. Hedge. I don’t know what this is.”

It was quite the spectacle. The whole thing was amazing. The two cars had collided and confusion had ensued. He sat on his motorcycle and watched. He knew he could have helped those people. He had the ring in his closed fist, unable to bring himself to put it on. He feared what might happen if he wasn't careful with it. Thank God there were others who didn't hesitate. Three people all together had saved the lives of those in the crash. James was slightly ashamed of himself because of his hesitation.
As he grew closer to the wreck he noticed that the door had been torn off of one of them and the other was covered in ice. His eyes widened as he took in the sight. "How the hell did they do that?" He asked to no one in particular.
It was the ring that answered.
"Three meta humans have been identified west of your location. These are the individuals responsible for the power residue you are witnessing now. Proceed with caution, Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814."
James was still too shocked to even tell the ring to shut up. He put the visor down on his helmet and managed to get out of the parking lot. For the first time since his "accident" he used the ring.
"Show me their location."
The ring displayed a small map and route for him to take. It wasn't long before he saw three people on the sidewalk just up ahead.

Kody and Dani both looked at Damien, "Look, I'm not sure how to put this-" Kody began. "Something is happening to us!" Dani blurted before Kody could finish.
Kody shot a look towards Dani as he tried to find the right words, "We saw you pull that guy out of the car, the door was ripped completely off."
"W-we were hoping you could fill us in," Dani blurted, "maybe you know something we don't?"
But before anyone could say anything, the roar of a motorcycle and then the sight of someone from school whom he couldn't quite make out just yet.

As he drew nearer to the three individuals he recognized them. One was Kody and the other was the boy who had been in the fight earlier that day. The girl he had seen around. James reached for his pocket to place the ring inside. However, he dropped it by accident. His eyes went wide as he swerved the bike around to retrieve it. James felt his temper flare at what he saw next. On another motorcycle that had previously been behind him was John Nuzzolillo, and he was holding James' ring in the palm of his hand.
Then something clicked in his head. The direction they were headed was nowhere near John's house. James knew he didn't have a Green Lantern ring, but perhaps John had somehow detected what had happened. He wasn't fond of the guy, but he would admit he was a bit of technical genius. Who knew what kind of gadgets he had on him. He put down the kickstand on his motorcycle and took off his helmet. He climbed off the bike and approached John, extending his hand out with the palm facing up. He knew enough about the ring to realize that it wouldn't work for Nuzzy if he put it on. It was bound to James. But he still didn't like him holding it.
"Mind giving me my ring back, John?"

John looked at the ring and at the other boy and smirked. “First why don’t you tell me what a Green Lantern is going following those kids” he said his eyes examining the ring and then the boy. John sat on his cherry red cruiser and closed his hand into a fist. Kicking the stand to hold his bike up he got off and walked over to the other boy. He deposited the ring in the youths hand. “We’re cool Melody,” he said in a voice and a blackened figure descended from a building using a black ichor in the form of a rope. “I’m not sure, but I think he’s ok.”
The Black Figure continued to descend head first revealing a feminine form until its face floated nearly inches from James “They don’t trust him, or the green laterns.” She smiled under her symbiote mask and turned to John. “He’s cute though, I understand why you don’t like him.” The mask receded revealing her lips and then her face, “So why don’t you tell us why you were following them?” she said in a sweet voice with a sparkle in her eyes and a shy looking smile on her face. Boys always fall for that…

The ring burst into a series of beeps as James closed his hand around it.
"Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814 a symbiotic life form detected in your vicinity. Extreme caution is advised."
James sighed as he opened his hand. There was no reason to try and hide what it was now. Both John and this Melody girl seemed to know what it was. He took the ring and placed it on his right hand middle finger. He then looked up at the girl.
"The Green Lanterns apparently don't trust you either."
He turned and motioned towards the other three just down the street from them.
"The ring told me they were meta humans. Thats how they were able to save those people the way they did. I mean, one of them ripped the door right off the car and another froze it. They clearly have some abilities of their own."
He looked back at Melody and John.
"I think meta human means they have their abilities......built in. Not like me, or you," motioning towards the girl, "that have something giving us powers."
James then stopped. His eyes fell upon Nuzzy.
"Exactly why were you following them?"

James then stopped. His eyes fell upon Nuzzy.
"Exactly why were you following them?"

Dani looked pissed at this revalation as she realized she was being followed, "Yea," she said turning, "why would you be following us?"
Kody however, was locked on the mysterious girl who had appeared in front of him. His mouth agape slightly as he cracked a sideways smile, "What's up?"
This of course resulted in a smack from Dani, "Keep it in your pants, Kody."
Kody then turned to Dani, "You're lucky I don't hit girls," he whispered. Suddenly, as one, they both turned again, "So, James," Kody began, "any reason you were following us?"

James turned away from John before the other had time to respond. Kody and the other two had walked up to them. The girl, Dani, had flat out asked him why he had been following them. They had clearly not heard the conversation about the power ring, which meant he wasn't going to tell them about it.
"I.......um........."
Normally James was cool and smooth around all women. Unfortunately, he wasn't used to explaining to a potentially dangerous girl that he knew she was some kind of mutant freak.
"Well, I saw you guys running away from the car accident. I just wanted to make sure you were ok."

Dani had had enough of this, "You're lying!" she then stomped her foot into the ground and what happened next she never anticipated. Once her foot hit the ground, what felt like an invisible wave flew out and knocked everyone off their feet.
At once, Kody sprang to his feet and grabbed Dani by the shoulders, "Dani! Calm down! You need to calm down right now!"
Kody then looked at the others some with disbelief in their face, "Ok, so I guess our secret is out." Kody then put up his hands and suddenly the air around him dropped in temperture. "So, what your deal?"

Melody still was hanging upside down when the others came. She looked over at John who nodded. “Get him.” He said as she wrapped her arms around the boy pressing her head against his stomach and shot webs from her feet using the symbiote. She flew into the sky and John kicked the stand on his bike. “all things will become clear in time.” He said before revving the engine and darting away like a bat out of hell on steroids.
He Drove down the complicated maze of streets before reaching an abandoned and run down warehouse. He looked up and saw Melody right behind him. He smiled as she landed on the rood and dropped the boy opening up a hatch and entering through the roof. John himself went to a large door, big enough for a car and drive on through entering the dirty and dank warehouse. In the corner stood a large wooden crate that possessed his suit, and a workbench with strange electronic gadgets on it.
Melody smiled at James. “Your certainly athletic.” She said smiling as she rubbed his shoulder. “And we weren’t following them,” she cooed lightly. “we were following you…”

James stood silent for a moment after Melody had put him down. For a second nothing happened. Then flashes went through his mind. First the ring had warned him about something called a Sinestro and then about Melody. She had, after all, just kidnapped him. He raised his hand and there was a brilliant flash of green and his clothes had been replaced with new ones that brandished the symbol of the Green Lantern Corps.
James rose into the air, now accepting the ring far more because it had clearly been telling the truth. Light erupted from the weapon and a dome of energy encased both John and Melody.
"All right. I'll admit I'm a bit new at this. But the two of you are going to tell me what the hell is going on here and why you were following me."

Melody giggled as she used her mind to force the Symbiote not to lash out at the green orb of energy. She smiled and batted her eye lash’s “Won’t you let me down please?” she asked gently. “Won’t you please let me down…”
“Don’t worry Melody.” John said smiling as he pressed a button on his belt and smiled. “We didn’t know if we could trust you or not.” He laughed a little as his belt began to vibrate and the sound wave popped the green bubble. “A Space Cadet like you, you even Trapped poor Melody after we saved you from revealing yourself to those people.” He shook his head. “Shame on the house of Hunter to be sure.” He added poetically. “We Just want to be friends, we want to make sure you could be trusted, and we wanted to make sure you could trust us, however we were interrupted.” he wet his lips with his tongue.
“We detected your ring earlier with this machinery.” He said pointing at a large clunky machine. “Which sent a signal to my belt here….” he said pointing to what looked like a normal belt buckle, “I know what you are thinking, this is a stirring reply. And while your right all answers are reply’s not all reply’s are answers. So I ask you now will you listen or will you keep my pretty companion on your little bubble?”

James stared intently at John. For a moment he didn't speak. It was true, they had saved him from being revealed, not to mention squished by that girl with the super foot. He released the bubble and landed on the ground once more. Despite the fact the she was obviously crazy, James had to admit that he was seriously attracted to her. Much more of a bad chick then any of the other girls at this school.
He looked around the warehouse without talking. Eventually his eyes came to rest on the large crate. Something important was inside, he gathered that much.
"All right. I'm listening. What is it you want?"

Melody sat down on a chair and looked down at the cloths she was wearing then back over at James. “Something a little more…dangerous.” She said and the symbiote slowly transformed around her putting her in a tight leather body suit revealing her toned stomach to the outside air. “Much better.” She said reaching a bare arm out to James. “Come sit over here.” She beckoned. “Or does the ring still think I’m dangerous?” she winked “well maybe I am…”
She laughed and John shook her off. “We are an organization, a very small organization that I created in order to better protect the people of our school.” he shook his head. “Strange things happen there, is it a coincidence that all these people with their abilities ended up in one place? Is it a coincidence that she was infected less then a block from here?” he shook his head. “We want to find out why.” He said simply. “But I don’t trust a space cadet like you, not yet.”

It was perhaps one of the strangest sensations Damien had ever experienced up to that point in his life. What felt like... wind... a wave of energy similar to a strong gust in a storm, pushed against him far worse than any bully ever had. Damien immediately lost his balance and toppled over no matter how much he struggled to stay up. It came too hard and too fast.
Jackson landed harshly on the ground, his brown curls whipping everywhere. He exhaled sharply with an audible "oof" and didn't attempt to get up. Kody stood up, raised his hands, and out of no where Damien felt a chill running down his spine.
"W-what..." he stammered, glancing at a woman who appeared to be wrapped in tar, two guys with motorcycles, and his new friends who seemed to be just as baffled as he was.
In a surprising turn, the strange black woman grabbed James and swung away on some black rope. The mysterious man screeched off just as fast. It was then that Damien decided to get back on his feet. His skin was scraped up from road rash, but other than that he was uninjured.
"Okay..." Damien said, Dani and Kody looking back at him. "What... the... hell is going on?"

James narrowed his eyes at John. Nuzzy was insulting him, yet again. They brought him here and this punk had the guts to tell him they didn't trust him? He was about ready to show these two just what the ring could do when a new voice interrupted.
"He called me a space cadet when they recruited me too."
James whirled around to see another boy in a black t-shirt and jeans fly in through the roof. He was beginning to wonder how many of these people there were. He set down next to James and reached out his hand to embrace Green Lantern's.
"My name is Alex. Melody there is a lot of fun. And once you get used to Nuzzy he's a good friend. You should really consider joining us. I mean, we could really use a Green Lantern on the team."
James powered down his ring, replacing his suit with his clothes he had been wearing previously. He turned and stared at Melody for a moment before turning to look at Nuzzy.
"So far, I get what she is. This guy can fly, probably a lot more. What exactly can you do?"

John smiled and shrugged. “I can’t do anything.” He said quetly. “I’m not as strong as either of them, not as fast as either of them and don’t posses any special traits like them.” He said with a shrug. “What I can do however is work on the machines.” He let out a shrug and then looked over to the boy. “And have godlike intelligence…” He walked behind the crate and give it a rather powerful kick causing one of the wooden planks to fall over. Inside was a mechanical man. He smirked. “And I got my suit.” He said looking at the metallic wonder. “With it I have incredible powers, tracking systems, lasers, night vision, pulse cannons, rockets.” John winked. “All Illegal mind you, took me forever to get all the necessary components; I had to beg borrow and steal from rather unscrupulous sources.” Walking up to James he patted his fellow youth on the back and then asked. “So are you in?”

Kody shook his head, "I don't know Damien, but something tells me we won't be seeing the last of them."
Kody then turned to meet Dani's gaze, "You knew? Didn't you? You knew about this 'power' all along?" she asked.
Kody nodded slowly, "Yea, Dani, I knew." He then turned and leaned against a nearby tree, "Truth is it's the main reason we've been friends for so long."
Dani looked at Kody with hurt in her eyes, "Explain. Now." it wasn't a question.
"In due time..." he answered.

“I knew it,” whispered an old man from inside his car. He held a pair of binoculars but sharply dropped them and started his engine. This man was not old enough to be retired, but he had silver hair around his ears and wild eyebrows. A moment ago he may have moved like a slug, but after he witnessed Damien’s powers he progressed into a cat.
“Guys, I’m sorry, but I’ve got to go. I can’t deal with this right now,” Damien said, taking several steps backward. Kody was spaced off in thought a bit, looking much more mysterious then he usually did. Dani shot a confused glance at Jackson - one that he couldn’t help but return. Damien had no answers.
Jackson turned and ran. He was no athlete, but adrenalin was on his side this time. The young man ran, and ran, and ran, long after he had lost his breath and his legs felt on fire. Damien had run the entire mile all the way home at his top speed. It must have taken him six minutes, maybe even less. A thought at the back of his mind wished that he could have done that in gym class.
Damien collapsed on his sofa and held his head in his hands.
What was happening. Who were Kody and Dani, really? Or more importantly - who the hell were those people on the motorcycles? And that girl in black?
Questions swam through Damien head in a sea of confusion. Then, as if on cue to make matters worse, there was a knock at the door. Frustrated, Damien attempted to get his cool back, then walked calmly to the door.
“Yes?” He said, opening it narrowly. Standing there was a man with graying hair and fancy clothes.
“Hello there, young man, my name is Melvin. Doctor Melvin Wraxter.”
“How can I help you?” Damien said, his brow unintentionally furrowing.
“You’re Damien Jackson, correct?” Dr. Wraxter asked semi-rhetorically.
“Yes.”
“Then it is I, who can help you.”

OOC: I am replacing Alex in my last post with Isabelle (Sunfire). Just to clarify everything so no one is confused.
http://starwars-exodus.wikia.com/wiki/Sunfire
IC:
James turned back to look at both Melody and Isabelle. He had to admit, joining a team with a couple of girls like them couldn't hurt anything. He still wasn't fond of Nuzzy, however. He really didn't like the idea of taking orders from someone like that either. However, if he really hated it he could always just quit. He took another look at his ring before his eyes reverted back to John.
"Yeah. I'm in."

John put his hand through his red hair and laughed a little. “Ah you’re a good guy Jimmy.” He said with a wide smile on his face as Melody walked up to and circled James.
“So what else can that ring tell you about me?” She said putting her arms around the youth’s neck. She leaned in and whispered into the boys ears. “I can hear your heart beating…faster and faster…”

OOC: Ok, I've replaced Isabelle with a different Isabelle. Last time I'll do it. I promise. Sorry all.
http://starwars-exodus.wikia.com/wiki/Wildcat
IC:
James eyed Melody carefully. She was gorgeous, that was for sure. However, there was certainly the danger factor there as well. His ring certainly did not like her much at all. Thats the part that worried him. He wasn't sure he could trust any of them, least of all the symbiote. He reached up and removed her arms from around his neck. He had been torn between the testosterone driven teenage side of him and his growing trust in what the ring told him. He sided with the ring in this instance.
"Sorry, babe. I'm not interested."
He stepped away from her and walked over to look out one of the windows of the warehouse. Izzy stared at him for a moment before approaching Melody.
"It's that ring of his. He'll come around, Mel. Remember, I didn't exactly love you at first either."
She gave her friend a wink just as James turned back to the others.
"So, I assume you have some sort of plan for doing all this? Do we just sit around and wait for stuff to happen or what? And what about those three kids I was following? My ring told me they were meta humans. Maybe we should recruit them or something."

“They are being watched.” John smiled. “Don’t worry, even know they are being watched.” John shrugged. “I’ve got eyes everywhere.”
Melody put on a sour face. “I don’t like that ring anymore.” She said in a pouted.
OOC: Sorry its not much... Gotta talk to Kit
