I'm thinking a new character, here, if I can manage it. What with classes having just started, it may be some time before my schedule frees up completely again... this week is rather busy.
I'm thinking a pilot. But my pilot-writing skills are somewhat faded from their former half-hale-glory of my youth. So I dunno about that. He'd also have some mechanic-ing skills, but like I said, my pilot-writing is rather unskilled at the moment. It's just been ages since I read any X-Wing novels, is all.
So I may come back later with more passion for the writing, and if so, I'll let you know - but at the moment, classes started today, I've got a book to finish before Wednesday, a busy Wednesday, some homework already, and other such opening school year things. So let me know if you need anything special, or if you don't need a pilot, or what - 'cause I can probably manage most other stuff. Just not the pilot, 'cause flying is something that requires a slightly different style than "regular writing". At least, in my opinion. For it to be good.
So... yeah. Basically, the whole point of this post is, "I might be still interested; if I'm not too busy, I'll make a new character."

Well, if nothing else Caitlyn can fly the ship, she did serve in the navy so she's probably got some flying skills. I think someone else was interested in being the pilot, though, but we haven't heard from him yet. Your character can do any number of things besides piloting if you want, we've got the flying covered. As far as being busy goes, well take your time I'm sure we'll still be here when your schedule frees up.

Um, no. If you want to bring... Oh snap, I did kill you didn't I? No wait, that was a different Derak. His name was Derak Lehnsherr, your name was Derak--whatever your last name was.
Hehe, I forgot your character's name was Derak. Oh well, if you want to bring him along there's plenty of room left on the ship. You could say you saw her ad in the newspaper or whatever Star Wars has that passes as a newspaper.

You killed me. It must be some Freudian slip, what with your anti-Wolf sentiments and stuff.
I might join, I have to look at the thread.
Is this related in any way to that other thread with Derak, Caitlyn, etc?

Yeah, I was wondering about that whole "Derak is dead" thing. I was like, "Did Balsa drop out? Did he agree to this? What's going on?"
But yeah, I might pull off a character of some sort. Maybe a "special forces" type of guy. Like I said, I don't know, and I don't have any big "holy crap!" ideas for a character right now. And I'm busy. Well, I should be busy.

It's sort of a prequel of sorts, Balsa. This is what happens before we run into Vague's character and get stuck on yet another grand quest to save the galaxy.
Caitlyn still has the same backstory that we discussed, so you don't have to change anything about Derak. Oh, and I'm going to get Dr. Lehnsherr's first name changed, I completely and totally forgot about Balsa's character.

Well, we'll wait for you and then see who else might show up before we go anywhere, so take your time, Balsa. This doesn't have to be a very fast thread and I don't expect everyone to post every single day, I just want the darn thing to last.

Hmm....
Chrono Cross or post in two threads...
If I use Derak, would it seem odd that he signed on? Sorta seems like a stalker or something.

Oh my god, I hope you guys shape up before Boba Fett starts hunting us. He's not a very nice guy from what I hear.
By the way, just to give you guys kind of an idea where the thread is going, I'm thinking Geneva is a planet. At first it was going to be something like Project Geneva and be like a bio-weapon of sorts, and then I decided it would be a research station and I kind of liked that idea, but now it's an uncharted planet. And on this planet is--something... I'm thinking some kind of new almost limitless power source the Empire is trying to harvest. Or maybe some kind of super weapon, or a combination of both. Trying to keep it fairly original here, but basically the idea is to find the planet and destroy whatever it is the Imperials are after.
Edit:
By the way, has the Executor been built yet? I had an idea for a cool scene where all of us get captured and we have to escape from a Super Star Destroyer.

By the way, our next destination after Kessel will be Tatooine. Caitlyn will be maintaining the appearance of being a freighter crew, so part of the reason why we're going to Kessel is to pick up a shipment of spice.
A lot of bad stuff is going to happen on Tatooine too.

Oh, yes, completely original. Not, like, say, Knights of the Old Republic and Saul Karath's ship? No, not at all.Pryde2000 wrote:Trying to keep it fairly original here [...] By the way, has the Executor been built yet? By the way, the Executor was commissioned in 1 ABY, so it may or may not be built yet, depending on how far along the "ANH-ESB" timeline you're going with this.
EDIT: By the way, Pryde, did you miss those alarms that JadeKyle's character set off? 'Cause... there were some set off. Fiddling with the doors, or something.
... If you ever need something edited, y'know...

Well, I didn't miss them per se, just didn't really know how to respond to that.
And, uh... I never actually finished playing KotoR... *Runs and hides!*

Feel free to fill in any part of the trip to Kessel, you don't have to start exactly where I left off.
Edit:
I know the jump seems kind of rushed, but I learned from last time where we didn't even make it to our first destination before the thread died. But if it ever seems like I'm going too fast for anyone just let me know and I'll slow it down a bit.

Um... what exactly was your plan with that last post? 'Cause... I don't see anything new I could do. I mean, apart from waiting for Balsa and JadeKyle to post...
... On second thought, that's probably what you were doing. And once they've posted, we can go on toward (or perhaps all the way to) Tatooine.
Still, though, we don't want to rush too much. As much as I understand the desire to move along, we do need a little character development, or the thread's going to end up being too short-lived. I think.

You're right, I was giving Balsa and Jade time to post before I moved the story along. Though, we probably won't make it all the way to Tatooine right away. Getting away from Kessel's going to be a bit rough. *Nudge nudge hint hint.*
I don't suppose anyone knows of a space station, or a good place to detour to between Kessel and Tatooine? Not to give anything away, but after we leave Kessel we'll need to put down somewhere and repair the ship... Who knows? Maybe we'll land on an asteroid like what Han did in Episode 5.
Edit:
I'm very big on character developement, so you guys will have plenty of opportunities to interact with each other as the story progresses. It's just too bad you missed the first one.
How come nobody decided to strike up a conversation? All those crates you guys were lifting and you did it all in silence? Sheesh, you guys must be as anti-social as Caitlyn. I half expected someone to say, "Oh my god, what a *****! Makin' us load all these crates... Blah blah blah."

Bitch is censored?
I'll probably make a post tonight, but I'm going to put Destiny's Star on a higher priority, with Blood of Kerensky following behind.
But, no plan survives contact with the battlefield, quiaff?

Well, you've got the weekend since I won't be able to post until like monday.
Heading out for PAX tomorrow, and I doubt I'll have internet access in the hotel room we'll be staying in.

June 2007. I guess I didn't need you after all, Pryde.
And somebody make Balsa post. He needs to post something about Kessel while we're still here.

Uh oh, that might not be good... Kessel is locked up tighter than... Well, something locked up really tight. If Craslem's causing trouble we could very well end up with an entire fleet of Imperial starships on top of us.

It'll be mostly you guys, a freighter can only manuever so well. You guys are gonna man the turrets and shoot down all the TIE's.
