To Master Shaggy
From Captian Hun
I bring you tiding form Lady Tagge and a gift to you and the jedi council a corellian star craft shuttle. We can then take you Naboo.
======================================================
Shaggy looked up from the data pad and had to shake his head again. *"Lady Tagge, I have not heard from either you or Tabetha in forever and now you contact me????"*
Shaggy knew about the wedding and he also knew about those who would be there. This was a big deal and considering Naboo's place in the galaxy, they Jedi should have a presence there. Reaching over to his right, Shaggy hit a communication button. "Faarel, I will need to see you in my room and also be prepared to leave for a wedding. It is on Naboo and there will be a large contengent of very important people there. I have a feeling that we should be there also."
Shaggy turned off the communicator and turned to look outside toward the stars. The Windu was heading out into the outer regions of space. The journey would be long and Shaggy didn;t know if he would ever see his friends again. But they felt that the Force was leading them somewhere else and the responded to it. Unfortunatly now, Shaggy has taken the role a lead in the Jedi council. He was not comfortable in this role...yet but then again the Force did not much care for how comfortable one was. He would be chosing a few more Masters to sit on the council but he could save that for after their trip.
Looking at this communication pad again, there was a new message from Captin Hun. They were waiting for him and his companions in hanger dock AA12. Shaggy just needed to speak with Faarel and then they would be on their way. Araya had already packed and was coming out of the refresher. Since they had recieved the message from Lady Tagge, Araya had been in deep meditation about the future and it was on her promting that Shaggy had accepted the offer. Araya was in touch with the Force in a way that Shaggy could only dream about and they were perfect for each other.
"Are you ready my love?" he asked as he came up from behind and rapped his arms around her. He kissed her on the cheek and she turned to face him. Those dynamic green eyes were the same that captured his interests so long ago. She smiled and elbowed him in the gut playfully. Her black hair was left long but tied in the middle with a leather strap to keep it from going wild. She moved up onto her toes and kissed Shaggy full on the mouth. When she stopped, she turned to pick up her lightsaber.
She was clad in the purest of black fabrics, from the flowing shrug around her shoulders to the silken skirt slitted up to both thighs that hugged her lithe legs and moved with as liquid a quality as quicksilver. Blood red piping adorned the body-tight corset, a matching shade to the crimson highlights in her raven tresses and the lacquer on her fingernails. Black heeled boots up to the thigh clung like a second skin to her legs, outlining every muscle to perfection. Shaggy's eye bow went up as he looked her up and down. He still is amazed every morning that he awoke to find her still by his side.
He shook his head once again and smiled. Now was time to saver the moments they had like this because he did not know how much long it would last. Just then, there was a ring at his door, Shaggy knew Farrel was there and was deeply greatful that the older Jedi responded as fast as he did. Shaggy opened the door, "Hello friend, it is good to see you. I have something very interesting that you should read." He said as he handed the elder Blackthron the datapad message from Captin Hun.

Faarel had relayed the message to Guan, who would stay in their quarters while he met with Shaggy. Over the short time, Faarel had taken liberty to get ready. He didn't have much, aside from his Jedi robes and garments, but what he did put on struck him being a different man. Almost of political nature, rather than a Jedi Master.
He wore high black boots, a white pair of formal pants, a black belt with a white crest, a black and white long vest, and black gloves. It was somewhat bland, but it was also the best Faarel had. Given the distance to Naboo, and provided that they left swiftly, then they would be there within the day, and Faarel wished to remain looking his best.
He approached the door and rang the chime, and Shaggy answered."Hello friend," the other Jedi greeted, "it is good to see you. I have something very interesting that you should read." Shaggy handed Faarel a data-pad, and without speaking, Faarel received it from the other Jedi and read it over. It was from some Captain Hun, on Naboo. He looked back up, and nodded, giving Shaggy the datapad back.
"That's fairly generous of them," he commented. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say they were trying to gain our trust. However, I think that this trip to Naboo will prove to be more beneficial to us, than it will the Naboo themselves. Given the state we're in, we will need all the allies we can find. Even if they are more... unconventional, if you will." He stopped for a moment, dwelling on why he had added that portion. There was something about his son, Cadden, that had disturbed him when he arrived. But, Cadden had learned to hide hismelf well in the Force, and not even Faarel could interpret what it was. Something dark, yet... misunderstood.
He shook off the feeling. Now as not the time for such distractions. He had to focus on the now, on the task at hand. "When do we leave?" he asked Shaggy.

"Now, if you are ready? We need to get that as soon as possible. I believe we are already fashionably late as is and would so hate to dissapoint our nee inverstor." Shaggy said with a small smile. He did not like the fact that this gift might have a price tag on it, but this was for a friend and he would at least honor his part and come.
Farrel nodded his head and turned to leave. "Docking bay AA12, fifteen minutes." Farrel turned again and said, "I will be there."
With that Shaggy turned to Araya and asked, "Are we ready?" She smiled as she walked by and said, "Yes we are." So Shaggy grabbed their bags and walked out. He was dressed in traditional Jedi robe that was made of a deep crismon. The durable and yet light material hid his muscular structure very well. Under his cloak he wore his one of a kind body armor and was cut off at the shoulders. His gauntlets ran all the way up to his bicepts and they could diflect a lightsaber blade. He wore a utility belt around his waist were his lightsaber hung from. His boots were made of the same materials as his gauntlets and the front gaurd came up to his knees. Under his armor he wore a red leggings that could keep him warm in all types of conditions.
Together they walked to the hanger that held their new ship. As a gift from one of the richest people in the known galaxy this ship was extremly nice. She had paid for not only a ship but a crew to man it. There was room enough for two hundred people in regular rooms. However, Shaggy was already envisioning a large workout room and maybe some shield and hull upgrades. He was also waiting on word from a certain contact that had volunteered to be an escort to the Jedi in their travels. Shaggy would send a message to them and have themm meet at Naboo. If they needed to make a quick get away, Shaggy would like to have the extra firepower present.
Araya turned and looked at Shaggy as though she knew what he was thinking, which she probably did. It was becoming harder and harder for him to keep his thoughts and feelings from her. Which for the most part was not a bad thing. Usually though, her reaction was less then positive. She gave him a inquisitive look and he responded with, "Just planning for every possiblity." He said while he shruged his large shoulders. She smiled again and pulled a stray piece of her raven hair behind her ear. She turned back toward the ship and on que, the ramp lowered and Captin Hun was at the top of the ramp to meet them. As Shaggy started up the ramp, he felt a twinge in the Force. He turned and saw Farrel and Gaun coming through the door after them.
"Captin Hun, this is the rest of our party. We will be ready when you are and please send a message of gratitue to the Lady Tagge that we will be every so happy to see her again." Shaggy explained and the captin bowed without a word. The ramp came up and Shaggy was shown to his rather large room. Shaggy could feel the ship begin to lift off the ground. Once they were safely away he made a call for Farrel and Gaun to meet Araya and himself in the main dining hall for a little food and some major council.

Faarel guided Guan, whom he had unofficially taken on as his apprentice, to the dining hall. Granted, Guan was ready for the trials to knighthood, in terms of skill, but much of what he had learned in the ways of the Force, he learned on his own. Faarel felt he should instruct Guan, as time permitted, on the deeper mysteries of the Force, so that the young Blackthorne would be fully prepared to defend himself against the Dark Side.
"You summoned us?" Faarel asked, as the entered the hall. Shaggy invited them to sit, and they did so. "I'm sure formalities are not in our best interests now," he continued, "given that we have much work ahead of us."
OOC: Short, but meh.

As Shaggy was about to speak, an officer ran up to him and bowed. "Master Shaggy, this message came as a response to the one you sent out.." He held out a data pad and then stood back at attention.
Shaggy pressed his thumb to identification pad and it sprang to life.

I am sure you are wondering why I have pushed for you to be here. Its simple, a few months ago Tabetha and her two children were taken by Damascus and Allyah needs to feel some connection to her couisn, at least for now. We do have hope with this wedding that they will be returend but as you know with Empire nothing is ever certain.
I know you havent been back here since you Tabetha and Jarren helped free Naboo, but Allyah really needs some ties to her fahter. I would greatly appericate if you come. Things are very hard for her now.

Shaggy's face grew pale and he turned the data pad over to Araya. She read it and handed over the table to Farrel. "Well my friend I believe at least some of our questions have been answered. This might be more difficult then I had first anticipated. I was going to have all four of us go and try to make connections, but it appears Araya and myself will be very occupied. OK then this what I would like for you and Gaun to do. First, let us refrain from using your real names at this point. I know Cadden has had some dealings with the Empire and maybe others there as well. So at least for the time being just go by Masster Farrel and his padawan Gaun." Shaggy looked at Gaun, "I know you are ready for the Knight Trails and after we finish with this you have them, but for now ambiguity is our advantage."
Shagy took a deep breath and Araya had already gone and gotten him a large glass of water. Shaggy downed it very quickly and then took another deep breath. "Also while we are there I will be bringing on my new padawan, Raabachiruk. He is a Wookiee and, as far as I know, starting form the ground up. I got a communication from the UDF about him and he will be meeting us on Naboo. This is a good thing, we need to continue to train our young ones to continue the fight."
Looking at Farrel, then to Gaun and back to Farrel Shaggy asked, "I would love for your council at this momnet. At times I feel like I am way over my head with everything that has been happening lately." Araya came and sat near Shaggy and grabbed his hand. "You are the wisest one of us all and you are my second in command. I will be relying on you for a great many things and I am hoping that we can do this."

Faarel nodded. "Oftentimes, difficult decisions must be made," he noted. "I remember, at Order 66, what types of decisions I had to make. Instead of living in exile, I chose to join the ranks of the Empire, so that I could better aid the Rebellion and the remaining Jedi. My only regret was that the Empire eventually figured me out. If they had not, things would be much different today.
"You must do what you believe is the right thing to do, Shaggy," he continued. "This may be an important time to bridge alliances, but it is also equally important to maintain our roles as keepers of the peace. If you must be absent for a time during this wedding to fulfill this other duty of yours, then Guan and I should have little trouble on our own during your absense."
OOC: I trust that's what you were referring to with that whole "counsel" thing?

As the ship started it's decent down into the upper atmosphere, Shaggy finished putting on his armor and making sure his cloak was straightened. Araya came up behind him and fixed the hood and collar to be centered down the middle of his back. Then she ran her slender hand through his hair to pull it back up from under the crismon colored fabric. Shaggy turned to his wife in a long flowwing blood red dress with silver inlays. It hung from her shoulders and it exposed the soft pale skin to just above the small of her back. The front of the dress held tightly to her skin and as she brought her silken shaw around her shoulders, Shaggy kissed her on her neck and the smiled. She looked up into his ever darkening eyes and smiled back. They had a long embrace and finally it was broken when a ring came at their door.
Farrel and Gaun were outside waiting. Shaggy smiled with a little embaracement, "My appologies. We must be on our way. I feel that we will be fasionally late to this event." Farrel gave a half smil and short laugh and then followed Shaggy and Araya down the ramp as the ship finished it's landing.
Shaggy turned quickly and said to Farrel, "You will be announced as our 'company' to hide your identities. We will use this to our advantage. There is a disturbance in the Force and I'm not liking us walking in blindely. Gather as much information and those in the ballroom that we need to know about. I have a bad feeling about something so keep your eyes open and your ears to the Force." Shaggy started forward again but stopped quickly, "But remember, we are at a royal wedding, so have some fun." With a wink Shaggy started back towards the ballroom. The music was already going and as they came up to the door. There was a young man there and Shaggy gave him his name.
"Master Shaggy, we have been awaiting you. We are glad you are here." He bowed and moved his arm back in a big sweeping motion. The doors opened and a loud voice began to speak.

Shaggy turned and looked around at the descrution they had caused and hoped it was more then enough to allow the others to get where they needed to go. They were about to head out when Smoke contacted Shaggy on his personal com unit.
After the short conversation Shaggy pulled up and said. "My friends we have a situation that has come up. We need to get to the praxeum and quickly. It seems that because of the war that is going on with these invaders, those that were allowing us to use their ship as a base is recalling their agreement with us." Araya came by his side and Shaggy looked up at Farrel and Gaun with a man that had to have been Cadden.
"My old friend, it seems like we will have to push up our plans for the academy much sooner then we had planned." Shaggy hit a button his wrist gaurd and Smoke acknoldged it with a whirl.
"We need to get outside the city. Smoke is bringing around our ship that was a gift from Lady Tagge. We will be taking it to the Praxeum and then to our new home. Follow me." Shaggy said but before he left, he turned toward where he felt the others were. "May the Force guide you and protect you my friends. Good luck."

Good luck."

The Jedi under Shaggy had been in transit for only a couple of hours since leaving Naboo, when to cost of using the Force as Shaggy had been doing caught up to him. His body was tired and he needed to rest. He left Araya in the bridge with Smoke on their way to the praxeum, which had returned to the New Republic capital of Corillea. Shaggy came into the room and disrobed. His armor showing some ware on it and would need to be polished again. His arm guards fell to the floor with a loud thud. They were extremely heavy, but they served him well. They had been his only “gift” from the Empire that had captured him. They made sure their weapon was protected. He was accustomed to their weight now but even a feather would feel heavy to him at this moment. He fell into the large bed and was driven into a Force led sleep.
Shaggy was awakened in the night by a vision something that was not normal for him. His gifting in the Force flowed more toward the physical attribute side of things and he hardly had any talents in other sides of the Force, but this vision still shook him.
Shaggy was standing in the middles of a vast plain. He could see tall grass and it came up to his waist. He saw a mountainside in the distance, lit from behind by a setting sun. As he stood there the ground shook at the roar of a beast in the distance. He turned to look for the beast but all he saw was a shadow. This shadow moved in the opposite direction that it should have been. It was racing towards the mountains instead of coming from them. It ran across the plains and as it touched the grass, the grass withered and died. Shaggy tried to move but it felt as though his lags were strapped down to the earth beneath him. The shadow engulfed him and he felt as though his body went numb and yet he continued to stand. He could feel death moving all around him like a frozen fog. It felt smothering and Shaggy grasped at his throat like he was being choked. As it started to move around to his face, he heard another roar from the heavens.
This time, Shaggy looked up to see a flying beast, large, golden, and it had a man riding it. They landed in front of the growing darkness and the beast let loose a horrific roar from its mouth. The ground shook again and the sound drove Shaggy to his knees in pain but Shaggy did not look away. The shadow continued to move toward the beast and its rider. Once again the animal let loose with a blast from its mouth and this time the shadow stopped as though it hit a wall. The rider then took up a horn and let a long triumphant blast. It was answered by many other horns. Shaggy looked up to see other beasts coming in to aid the first one. The sizes of the creatures varied but none were as large as the first. They all came together and in one ear shattering chorus, they all let loose a roar that caused the mountains to begin to crumble. The ground split and shook with such violence that Shaggy was thrown onto his back.
As he looked up he saw that the shadow was retreating. Slowly the shadow moved at first but then in leaps and bounds away from the beast and his rider. The shadow passed back over Shaggy and he felt the sun once again fill his body with warmth. Breathing was no longer labored and the feelings came back into his body. He looked up where the army of creatures had gathered and they stood there looking at him. With the sun at their backs, Shaggy could not see the details of the faces or characteristics of the beasts but the rider then spoke in a loud voice that seemed to fill the air around him.
”Meck shanta, uuna furtuon beshini hewton! Daer’Gunn! Procuna sercd eh bastillon!
From there the rider sounded his trumpet and the beast took to the skies again.
Shaggy stumbled to the refresher and turned on the water. His long dirty blonde hair became soaked and fell around his face and shoulders. The words that the rider said were still fresh in his mind. In fact he stared to repeat them when Araya came into the room. She had sensed that something was wrong and as she entered the room she froze. Shaggy turned to see his wife looking pale and very uncomfortable. He began to ask and she said, “Where did you hear that? It is something that no outsider would know about.”
Shaggy stepped out of the refresh and told Araya about the vision. She hung on every word he said and when he finished she responded with, “We need to go to Dathomir right now. The elder of my clan is very old but she is very wise in the ways of visions. The words that you spoke were from the old days before the separating of the clans. I understood some of it but there is much I did not. We need her guidance in these matters. This must be done now before we continue on to the praxeum.”
Shaggy nodded his head, which still felt like it was ringing with the force of the roars that came from those creatures. The pulled up the com and game Smoke the new coordinates to follow. He also called in the other Jedi to inform them of the changes. Sitting around a large table Shaggy said,
“We are making an unscheduled stop in Dathomir. Araya and myself will be leaving and the rest of you must go on to Corillea and begin the process of finding suitable planet to move the academy to. This vision is leading me on a path that only I can do and I feel that it must be done now. Faarel, you will become the voice until I return. I trust your judgment and your council. I will be leaving as soon as we arrive. There is a small vessel in dock that will take us onto the planet once we come out of hyperspace. I will be contacting you soon.”

OOC: In case you didn't figure this out, Shaggy, I dumped the idea of Faarel not knowing Cadden is alive, not having visited with him, etc. I'm just saying this now, so no confusion arises from my post. I'm gonna be jumping around a little bit, but that doesn't mean the thread needs to. Just wanna get my stuff rolling a little better.
IC:
Faarel nodded in response. "Very well," he responded. "I think I know of just the place, but I will do some research before making the final decision." Then, he turned his head, gazing out at hyperspace, and his voice grew distant. "Once we drop out of lightspeed, however," he continued, "I will need to contact my son." He smiled, realizing Shaggy's evident concern about the statement. "Don't worry, I don't intend on leaving."
Once they arrived in the Corellia system, Faarel obtained the information necessary to contact Cadden from Guan. From that point, he asked the young Blackthorne to go find his father, and soon afterwards, Faarel sent a transmission.
OOC: If you really care what he is saying to Cadden, you can find out over in the Shadow of Mystery thread. As of this post, it won't be for a while 'fore I roleplay their conversation, so if you're really interested, you'll just have to wait. Likely, no one cares anyway.

ok go get your popcorn this is a long one
”Meck shanta, uuna furtuon beshini hewton! Daer’Gunn! Procuna sercd eh bastillon!”
Shaggy awoke again to the sound of the rider’s words. Since the first night that he had the vision, he had yet to have a peaceful sleep without the vision returning. He moved his legs over the side of the bed that had been made from wood and straw. They had been on Dathomir for three days now and the elder witch Dan’Ae, who was returning from a trip to the southern plains region to negotiate a peace agreement between two warring clans. Her name literally meant, one that judges and she had been raised as a leader from birth. The Force had also given her the gift of interpretation of visions and dreams. This was something that Shaggy needed to badly.
Turning to the side, he saw Araya walk by their door. She was walking with another sister from her clan. Seeing her again dressed in hides and in typical Dathomir woman’s armor, brought a smile to his face and warmth to his heart. He closed his eyes and recalled the first time he saw her. She was riding a rancor and had met them when they landed. He, Master Naton, and others had to make a stop here to retrieve something from the planet and she was the first to greet them. She was the strongest warrior in her clan and she was being groomed to become the next leader of the clan. She went by the name Danni back then. Though her own personal struggles and dark times, she now called herself Araya. In her native tongue it meant one that traveled from darkness to light. Her new name fit her better now, Shaggy thought to himself. Throughout everything they had gone through the last couple of years that name spoke volumes about who she had become.
The loss of their son to pirates had almost thrown her in a darkness Shaggy did not know if he could ever rescue her from. He had dealt with the loss of Alexander by killing those that were involved with his death. Commander Ishmael, the former leader of the Imperial Intelligence had taken the infant from his parents in order to bring Shaggy back into their experiments that they had begun on him many years ago. When Shaggy and Araya had stormed the small building where they were keeping the child, Ishmael got impatient. He had always been mentally unstable and he had finally lost it. He killed the child in front of his parents. Araya, in her grief and rage, lifted the man off his feet with the Force and used the Force to do things to him that made Shaggy turn a little green just thinking about it. The mad man deserved it but Shaggy was no longer supposed to smile at revenge. I guess he still more to work on then he realized.
He shook his head realizing that there were tears flowing down his face. Alexander was one with the Force now, for that he took solace in. One day they would be together again, but not anytime soon. Shaggy had much work to do. There was a menace coming into the universe and the Jedi were going to be on the forefront of the battle. He had to find a place for the Jedi in the new galaxy and he had to deal with himself as being the head of the Jedi Order. His council had just about fallen apart and now he was on a planet waiting for an old lady to tell him about his dreams.
He felt the frustration start to ebb in on him and so he sat up straight and took a deep breath. Letting the Force fill him with calm and a sense of focus, he stood up and looked out the window. He needed the focus for this task a head of him. He decided to go and do something. He started to put on his armguards and his regular armor, and then he realized that while he was here, he needed to adhere to the customs and laws of this clan. Turned back around he put his guards back and grabbed his work clothes. Araya had placed them there for him incase he wanted to wear them. With his status as Jedi Master and her husband, he did not have to wear them, but this just seemed more right for him to have meet the elder in these clothes then to present himself as something special. Something he did not believe himself to be.
As he walked outside, he felt the warm morning sun on his face. He stood taller then every other man in this village. Also all the men here had shorter black hair, where his was long a dirty blonde. Shaggy looked around for someone who might need help. There were some men off clearing large rocks from a place where they were trying to set up a small crop field. Shaggy walked over, greeted them, and then began to help move the rocks that were there. The other men were grabbing rocks and tossing them into a large cart which Shaggy was moving around for them. Doing work like this made him happy and took his mind off of other things.
This work continued for most of the day with Araya bringing him some food around noon time. Her black hair was pulled back and adorned with many jewels. Even though she was no longer here on the planet she still held her judge status. Her pale skin was evident while she stood next to the other women. Since they had been living on a starship for the last couple of months, getting out into actual sunlight is something they did not get to enjoy much anymore. Araya was smiling and laughing and it looked like that burdens that she had been carrying around with her were leaving her and being replaced by happier thoughts.
The work ended and Shaggy made his way to the river to wash up. He jumped in just took time to sit there and let the coldness of the water to flow around him. From the hard work all day, his muscles were tried and well worked out. He did not use the Force to refresh himself but allowed his own body to regenerate things. Once he became a full Jedi, he had always thought that they should rely on the Force when they needed it and not to depend on it. Shaggy watched as the river moved across the rocks and down into another pool. He tilted his head back and remembered.
The streams of his home village looked clam and peaceful as it moved from over the rocks and into a small pool at the base of the hills. He had been playing there all day avoiding his chores that he was supposed to do. He dove under water after a small fish when an explosion shook the water that he was in. He came out to see fire and smoke coming from his village. He got out and ran toward the fire. He could hear wailing and more blaster fire. AS he came up to the entrance to the village he was met by a stormtrooper and knocked to the ground. The soldier grabbed him hard and forced him into a group with other children his age. At that time he did not know what make of everything going on around him until he saw his parents and older sister brought into view. They were lined up and many of the children started to cry out for their parents, he did not. The troopers gathered around the old people and open fire on all of them.
Screams of pain and then cries of sorrow filled the air around him. He was pushed, pulled, and finally thrown to the ground again by the swelling tide of children running for their fallen parents. All the children were then rounded up and put into different lines. Boys one side and girls in another. They were stripped naked and moved through a small line which consisted of many medical people taking reading s and then they stood in front of a tall female. She would place her hand on their head, say something over them and then get taken away.
As it became his turn, he walked through the line. He could not understand what was being said but it did not sound good. Their mocking and laughing tone got louder as he continued through the line. He came to the end and had a bracelet attached to his ankle. He was then taken and he stood in front of the lady. No he got a full look at her. She was tall, with white hair and yet she was not old. The way her outfit looked, she was not military. She wore a long black cloak which hid a black jumpsuit under it. She also carried a long cylindrical object on her belt. She said, “This is getting useless.” But she still put her hand on his head. She waited there for a second and when her eyes opened she took on a very devious smile.
“Still no luck but put this one on my own transport. I will require a slave.” She moved him toward a trooper who was standing in front of a shuttle. Looking down she read off the number that was on his ankle. “24601” she said coldly and he was then pushed into her shuttle and was told to wait there or die by the man in white. He stayed there for what seemed to be days until she finally came back up the shuttle ramp. She looked at him and tossed a blanket his way. She turned and hit some buttons and the shuttle leapt up off the planet’s surface. As they moved, he watched the outside sky turn from a light blue into a black. The woman came back again and looked at him. “24601, is not what I want to be calling you from now on. You are most the disgraceful looking student I have ever had. I don’t know what to do with all that shaggy hair.” She stood again. Looking him over she gave a short laugh and said, “I will call you Shaggy. It’s a pathetic name for a pathetic individual. If you prove yourself different I will give another name. Until then that will be your name.”
Shaggy brought his head up out of the water, horns were being blown and he heard a trumpet from the village return the sound. The elder must have been close. He moved out of the water and went to present himself before her. As he came up the pathway he was met by Araya. She looked him up and down and said, “You can not meet her like that. Go in and get yourself into your Jedi clothes. She is meeting the head of the Jedi’s, not some ordinary man from this village. She is expecting someone of power.” He nodded and as he ran by her he received a light tap on his rear from his wife. He looked back toward her and she put her hands behind her back and gave him a brush in the Force that said, “Come find me later big boy!!”
Shaggy went in to their hut and proceeded to put on all of his official Jedi robes. His arm and leg gauntlets went on after he put on his chest crimson red chest protectors. He straightened his belt and attached his lightsaber to it. His pulled his hair back into a long tail and then wrapped his black cloak around him. He stepped out from the hut and was met by Araya.
She had gone and put on her ceremonial armor on and was coming to take him to the proceedings. Shoe wore some lizard skin that was a bronze color. Her hair was done up and a jewel headdress was there now. She was barefoot and had some special body paint on her arms and legs defining who and what she was when they met the elder. She would walk in front of him and she would speak first but she knew her husband knew this. If he spoke first, it could be considered a large insult. The two of them walked toward the meeting place. There was already a crowd there to hear the elder and to seek her advice. However, when Araya and Shaggy entered the large building, it got very quiet.
The elder was sitting on a large chair in the center of the back wall. It was well lit with torches and the painting on the wall told the clans history. Shaggy saw where he and his companions had come in and Araya had left. He began to look around more when the elder woman spoke.
“Who is this that brings a slave into my presence? I am Dan’Ae, elder of the four points and keeper of the stories and the secret spells. Is this not Danni, judge of this clan?” As she said this she stood and came out of her chair. Everyone in the room bowed and Shaggy went down to one knee as a sign of reverence. Everyone except Araya bowed. She bowed her head but still spoke.
“Danni was the name I went by for a season. I am now called Araya for I am one that has walked from darkness into light.” There was a power behind her voice that Shaggy had not heard in a long time. It was a voice that had the power of the Force behind it. She was using it to project her voice so that everyone in attendance heard it. The real power though came from the conviction in her voice. She knew the situation and it importance. “I have come seeking your wisdom with my husband, a Jedi Master.”
Shaggy felt a brush of the Force and he stood to his full height and took the hood off his head. He walked up and stood just off to the right of Araya’s shoulder. He waited to speak until he was given a clear signal. Dan’Ae looked him over and then spoke. “I have heard that you had returned with this one and also there is a disturbing vision he has received. Step forward Master Jedi and speak.”
Shaggy walked past Araya and bowed again before Dan’Ae. He raised his head and told the vision. He finished but had not mentioned what the beast rider had said to him. The elder looked at him, “What makes you think this has anything to do with us here?”
Shaggy brought his face up and said in a loud voice, “Meck shanta, uuna furtuon beshini hewton! Daer’Gunn! Procuna sercd eh bastillon!” He finished and the room turned into an uproar. The witches started to scream and rant and one even threw something at him. Araya caught in the Force and without saying a word stepped to Shaggy’s back and placed her hand on him. With that, the room fell silent again. This was a sign that everything he was saying, she was giving her full support to.
Dan’Ae looked at him and came up to him. She was a woman of small stature but the Force swirled itself around her. Shaggy got down on his knees as she stepped toward him. She came and got down and looked him in his eyes. “Do you know what you said?” Shaggy shook his head.
“This is what was said to me by the rider on the beast. I have yet to sleep without being awoken by these words. They haunt my dreams and plague me when I am awake. I would be in your debt if you could shed some light on this vision that the Force has given me.”
Dan’Ae looked him over and began to speak, “The words you spoke were a promise made by the last man to ever lead a clan. His name was Daer’Gunn and his name ment, rider of the storm. This man could use this Force that you talked about without spells much like you can do. The words that you just spoke are the last part of long speech he gave before he went out into the wilderness. It was a charge he gave to his leaders to heed the words of their master Daer’Gunn to protect his people. That phase has been used many times in wars and battles. To protect the people means to protect those that you are not only close to but all who fall under your protection.” She reached forward and placed her hand on his head. She stood there for a couple of seconds and then her eyes came open and she nearly doubled over at the waist. Shaggy reached up and caught her. She shook her head and looked into his eyes.
“There is mantel that has been placed on you and you do not feel ready for it. There is a ritual that we perform for those who are going to become our leaders. You will be taken out into the wilderness and you must seek out the one that share’s your soul.” Shaggy turned to look at Araya and had his chin grabbed. “Not that one, each one here has a beast in the fields that respond to us. You will find yours and you will leave tomorrow at daybreak. Prepare yourself.”
Shaggy awoke again to the sound of the rider’s words. Since the first night that he had the vision, he had yet to have a peaceful sleep without the vision returning.

IC:
The search had been long, tiresome. Faarel went through every possible location that he could think of, which wouldn’t cost the lives of the Order. The first choice, and an obvious one, was Yavin IV. However, with the Imperial control of that system, it would have cost them more than it was worth. So, he turned to Dantooine, where he had been in exile, and where he had found the ruins to that ancient Jedi academy. It would have been a good location, had it not been for the same reason that Yavin IV was not.
Planet after planet, system after system, Faarel continued his search. Ossus and Arkania both held Jedi Praxeums in the past, and would have been excellent choices. But, Faarel frowned, and purged the possibilities from his mind. No. The past had a tendency to repeat itself. Enemies of the Jedi would first look in locations such as these, it was only natural. They needed somewhere that would be, relatively, safe, but provide enough of a learning experience to remain a great choice.
After weighing the possibilities, Faarel felt he had no other choice. He granted the planet his silent approval. This world had seen much over the centuries, the millennia. And yet, it remained intact even as he was looking at it in the navicomputer. Troubled by threats from the Sith, attacks from Mandalorian Crusaders, civil wars, this world was still standing firm, strong, as if the Force was pulling him to make the decision to have this planet represent the Jedi. It was a perfect fit.
Turning from the computer, Faarel approached the comm. link and opened a frequency to the transport’s cockpit. “Captain,” he spoke, “we have our coordinates. Set course for Onderon. The Praxeum shall be built there.” After receiving the affirmation, Faarel turned and looked back at the computer. Onderon, it was the perfect match. It and the Jedi held so much in common.
Soon, the ship made the jump into hyperspace. It wouldn’t take long to get to Onderon from Corellia, but Faarel was tired, and needed some rest. The search, though consisting of digging into databanks and looking up planets on the navicomputer, drained much of his energy. To top it off, his discussion with his son had also caused him to be somewhat preoccupied. He feared that Cadden could be treading too close to the Dark Side, or worse, already engulfed by it. And if so, he only had himself to blame. The only thing that kept him from training his son to become a Jedi was fear that the Empire would discover him, and kill them all. Of course, he should have known better, but it was a time of great turmoil, of great darkness.
He held many regrets, and many more he wished he could reverse. But, the past was the past, and there was nothing he could do about it. The future, on the other hand, was always in motion. But did they even hold a future?
Once Faarel arrived at his quarters, he decided it was too unhealthy to dwell on these thoughts, and that he should just focus on the task at hand. Cadden said he would stop by when he could, and Faarel believed him. Maybe, then, he could undo some of the wrongs he had done in the past. Until then, however, he had his own task to accomplish. The building of the new Jedi Praxeum and the training of a new generation of Jedi took precedence over family matters. If he dwelled too much on things that could not be dealt with, then the truly important tasks would be missed, or completed inadequately.
As Faarel lay down on his bunk, his last thoughts were hopes that Cadden would fulfill his destiny, and walk away from the darkness that undoubtedly taunts him.
__________
The trip did not take long, but it was plenty of time for Faarel to rest and meditate. He felt calmer, more at ease, now, than he had before. Though the thought of Cadden being the leader of the Mandalorians still bothered him – not because of who Cadden had become, but what he might become – he was able to keep his mind off the thought, assuring himself that his son would pull through as a warrior of the light.
True, Cadden was, indeed, dancing dangerous close to the Dark Side, but Faarel could sense that it was a battle Cadden was waging furiously with himself, and that the Light was still winning. This brought a sense of peace on his mind, and in his heart, about the issue, and allowed him to focus on the task at hand. He watched from the transport’s transparisteel window as the dropped out of hyperspace above Onderon. He would need to get a good look at the planet, and learn all he could about it, before he could select a prime location.
And so the search began. Over the next several hours, much to the dismay of the crew of the transport he utilized, he had buried his head in studying Onderon. This caused his pilot, co-pilot, and other crew to get restless, bored. He even overheard joking, sarcastic remarks of just dumping Faarel off in the middle of the wilderness and heading to Iziz for some r-and-r. Of course, their tone, as well as what the Force spoke, told Faarel that they wouldn’t, unless he requested it, but it still bothered him at times.
He finally found the perfect spot, and informed the relieved crew. Once the coordinates were set in, Faarel went to work contacting the rest of the Jedi, whom were going to help build the Praxeum. Supplies for the building would need to be brought in, as well as a workforce. It was a step toward ownership, if you will. Though it was a lengthy process, both Shaggy and Faarel agreed that it was necessary.
They touched down, and Faarel stepped out of the transport, and took in the fresh air. It was calm here, just as he had hoped. They would need a place like this, with its harmonious balance of a peaceful aura and opportunities for training alike. He looked back over his shoulder as the captain approached from the transport. “Master Jedi,” he spoke, “we must go about our way. Do you require anything else from us?” Faarel looked back over the surroundings.
“I just require my equipment,” he responded. “The others shouldn’t take long to arrive, and I can do with the peace and quiet.” The pilot nodded, and Faarel followed him back into the transport. Moments later, he re-emerged with the items he needed, mostly lodging-related. As the transport lifted off, Faarel immediately got to work setting up his camp. He had a comm. unit handy, in case someone needed to call him, hooked up to the appropriate frequency. However, Faarel figured, it was not likely to be anything that could not wait another day. And though he had enough power in the comm. unit for the entire time of his solitude, he doubted anyone would find the need to contact him prior to arriving, themselves.

OOC: I suppose it's time to bring Kalja back into the fold...
IC: “And there is nothing I can do to convince you to come here?”
“Kalja, you have your place and I have mine,” the man on the other end of the transmission said with a knowing smile. “My place is not with the Jedi Order. You know that.”
Kalja Leidias, now the longest-running member of the continuously changing Jedi Council, leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms in annoyance as she blew out an exasperated sigh. It was the same conversation she always had with her father about this subject. “Tulsar, we could really use a man of your skills. You can be so difficult sometimes.”
“It runs in the family,” Tulsar Leidias shot back at his daughter. “How many times did we argue about your needing to learn how to use a lightsaber?”
“And you were right,” Kalja grudgingly admitted. “Just as I’m sure that I’m right about this.”
“Kalja, please, enough,” Tulsar stopped her with a more serious look. “Finding Sivter will always take priority with me. It’s especially important now, with the rest of the galaxy concerned with the Xen’Chi, that I locate him. He’s been quiet too long and it has me worried.”
“I don’t suppose we can assume he died?”
“Not likely,” Tulsar replied darkly. “And…” he hesitated. “I’ve uncovered some promising leads; the best I’ve seen since Chisas. I need to follow them up.”
Kalja sat up a bit straighter with concern. “That promising? If they’re genuine, I can’t see Sivter leaving that many clues unless it’s a trap or he does indeed have something big in the works. Be very careful.”
“I know, and I will,” Tulsar agreed. “I promise I’ll make some time to drop by when the new academy is set up. May the Force be with you.”
“May the Force be with you,” Kalja quietly repeated before her father cut the transmission.
Kalja stared back at her own reflection in the darkened communications screen thoughtfully. The galaxy was in such turmoil these days, what with the Xen’Chi and Gait actively making war on the galaxy. She could also sense a gathering darkness that had nothing to do with the extragalactic invaders, whether it was being caused by Sivter, or some other Darksider with dreams of power, she couldn’t say. The only thing she knew for sure was that it was imperative for the Jedi Order to finally get on its feet.
She thought back to all of the Jedi she had met on the Council. Aside from the new incarnation under Shaggy, they had all left or had disappeared, all except her. Kalja herself had been little better as of late; first stuck on Coruscant after the Imperial invasion and then searching the galaxy on her own to try and find an answer to the problem of Gait.
“Devon, Ethan, Cameo, Gideon…” Kalja thought to herself, recalling some of the members she had known better than others. “Where are you now?”
Another thought occurred to her as well, that of her one-time student. “Reave… How have you handled yourself during these trying times?” Kalja had not seen or heard from Reave since she helped to put an end to the Val Aru threat on Calernon.
The beeping of the navicomputer brought Kalja out of her reverie and let her know that Onderon was coming up fast. Setting her mind back into the present, Kalja dropped the Mystic Aura out of hyperspace in front of the ancient world. It wouldn’t have been her first choice for the Jedi Order, but nowadays it didn’t seem like there was a safe place anywhere for the Jedi. She vowed to give Faarel the benefit of the doubt.
Feeling the Force flow through her as Kalja took the controls to her unique ship, she made her way to the site of the new academy…

Location: Back in the desert!!!
Shaggy left from the meeting hall but Araya stayed. She and Dan’Ae had many things to discuss. Things that Shaggy knew were between them and if it was important, they would discuss it later if they could. Shaggy stopped by the shuttle and stepped into receive a message from Faarel. Shaggy looked over the message and smiled. Turning to droid he said, “Well it seems that things are in motion. I am confident that Faarel knows why he put them there and I trust his decision to put the school there. I am going to give you a message I need for you to send to him as soon as possible.”
Smoke gave a whistle and turned towards his master and when a light went on over his optic sensor, Shaggy started. “Greetings my friend. I am doing well here and it is good to be in a place that the worries of the universe have yet to come, but my visions from the Force has taken a very unique turn. I am to go on a spiritual journey of sorts. I do not know how long it will take and what I am fully supposed to do, but I will do my best. I see that you have chosen a place for the academy and I know you were lead there by the Force. I do have a request for you though, I need you to contact other members of the council and inform them of this journey the Force has put me on. I am planning to return to you shortly but in the time that I am here I will have you be the headmaster of the school. I trust your judgments and I know that you will raise up a generation that will be able to stand against any enemy. The other thing is, Kalja Leidias will become our mouth piece. She has been on this council longer then any of us and I trust her as well. It seems as though the universe is being stacked against us but we will overcome.
This journey I am on was deemed important by the Force and I believe from it, I will come out changed and more ready to receive this mantel of leadership that has been put on my shoulders. We both know my misgivings about being appointed the new lead on the council but we are in a place where leadership can not continue to shift and people drop off. We must have a strong leader and we must once again become a presence in the galaxy.”
Shaggy paused for a moment and placed his hands on his face for a second collecting himself. He took a long cleansing breath and started again. ”We are at a crossroad for the Jedi in the universe. We are divided and are being taken out by an old threat and a new one. We must find our place again in the galaxy and we must protect those that can not protect themselves. Once again I trust in your insight and in the wisdom of Kalja. We must continue with our mission. I will talk to you soon, and may the Force be with you.”
Shaggy stood up and looked outside to see Araya standing there. She looked as though she had been crying but she did look happy and the Force glistened off her face. She came up and gave him a small hug. She reached up and stroked his face. “Let’s go, you have a hard trip in front of you and you must prepare. I will become your ‘Hushuna’ which means I will be the one who prepares you for this journey. This will take some time to get you ready and you leave tomorrow morning so we must hurry.” She took him by the hand instead of going back to their hut; she took him to the streams. She had him strip down to almost nothing and lay in the stream.
Shaggy was in a shallow enough part that it did not cover his whole body but the waster came up around and over his body. The temperature had dropped enough outside that it made the water feel even colder to the touch. Araya stood on the side of the stream and closed her eyes. She began to slowly sway in the breeze and was chanting. That was something Shaggy had not heard from her in a long time. She had stopped chanting when she learned she did not need it to use the Force, but Shaggy thought that this was part of the ritual. Shaggy put his head back and rested. He felt the coolness of the stream washing over him and he felt something on his skin. When he opened his eyes he saw a dark fluid flowing around him and he looked over at Araya. She was in a deep trance and her right hand was palm up facing the sky. Shaggy’s head came back and then he realized his body was being purified. When he looked at the surrounding waters, he could feel the Force surrounding him and pulling anything that might hinder his body in the journey out of him.
This went on for another hour or so and when it was finished, Araya came and took his hand. She was physically exhausted because of the intricacies of the purification process. Shaggy took her back to the hut and laid her to rest on the straw. Instead of going to bed himself, he cleared a small place on the floor and sat down. He closed his eyes and he released himself to the Force. He sat there as the Force crashed on him like the waves of a sea. As it did, it filled him with a renewed strength and determination. Shaggy also knew that he was in the right place and now a time was coming of change. This was now a time of rejuvenation for himself and when he opened his eyes, he saw the beginning of sunlight coming over the tops of the mountains. It was time now time to begin.
He started to clothe himself when he felt a hand on his back. Araya stood there and she handed him a tunic to put on. “No weapons or armor can go with you.. The only thing that can go with you is a skin of water. Other then that, you must fend for yourself.” Shaggy looked her eyes; those deep green eyes that constantly made him lose strength in his knees. He picked her up and embraced her fully as only he could and she returned it. He put her down when he heard the footsteps of a large animal outside. “It’s time.” She said as she led him outside and there stood the whole village. Dan’Ae rode on a large lizard and she was flanked by two rancor riders. Dan’Ae dismounted and all in attendance got on one knee before her. She placed her hand on Shaggy’s head and said,
“Now is the time for your journey to begin. The direction you must take is toward the North. There are caves in that place that we call the ‘Crags’. It is the resting place of Daer’Gunn. You will go there and find you place in the universe. Be warned, there are many beasts and others that will wish to do your harm. You must be aware at all times and will need to gather your own food and water. Return to us soon for we will be waiting.”
Shaggy took the animal skin filled with water and turned to Araya. Her eyes were filled with tears but there was a confident smile on face. She nodded her head toward him and he felt her brush in the Force. He then rose to his feet and took off toward the north and his destiny.
I will talk to you soon, and may the Force be with you.”

get your popcron again folks.
Shaggy awoke to the sounds of animal movement. He had taken refuge in a tree to escape any predators on the ground. Some Jedi were gifted when it came to speaking to animals, which was another gift from the Force that he had failed to receive. Araya could do it and in fact did it on a regular basis. Now more then ever, Shaggy was realizing how gifted his wife was and how lucky he was to have her.
*”I wish you were here now Love.”* he said to himself as he heard some predatory calls in the darkness. The sun had not come up yet and this was the third night of his journey. He had been using the Force to slow down his metabolism and it had rained the night before so he had refilled his water skin. The day before he had begun to see the mountains that Dan’Ae had referred to as the Crags. They had shown themselves on the horizon before Shaggy tried to get some sleep. Now, with the sun starting to return from its slumber, Shaggy was on the move again. He was using the Force to push his muscles to an incredible speed.
This was one of the first lessons that he had been taught. To infuse your muscles with the Force will always give you an advantage in combat. If you could overpower an opponent that was good, but if you could be more powerful and faster, that made you deadly. His entire first two years of training went into hand-to-hand combat and learning to infuse you muscles with the Force to add power to everything you do. The more defined skills were never touched on. Maybe that was one reason that Shaggy was never good at picking things up with the Force. Araya could move boulders, pick up stunt fighters, and cause a Force whirlwind. Unfortunately, Shaggy had no training in those areas. He was ok with that but there were times in the past that those skills would have been very helpful.
Shaggy continued to run for about another hour when he came up the foot of the mountain. He sat and took a long drink from the skin. He closed his eyes and took a long, deep, cleansing breath and sat there for a second. These mountains tingled with Force. Whatever it was, it was ancient but Shaggy felt as though it was dormant. He spent the next several minutes searching for it. He had a battle awareness and he pushed it to its limits. He could feel something dark, and ominous under the mountain. He would need to find out what it was for him to be able to put this vision to rest.
He took another couple of deep breaths and started up the first face of the mountain. He would climb, jump or crawl towards the darkness. Sometimes that meant him squeezing through an opening to a cave or sliding over some not so smooth rocks he kept moving. He finally came to a cave the reeked of the Darkside of the Force. The mouth of the cave had carvings that made it look like the mouth of a giant beast. Shaggy took a deep breath and started to walk in and was met by the smell of sulfur and ash. The smell seemed to be coming from every direction and the further Shaggy walked, the hotter it became. The cave led down into the ground for what seemed like miles. The heat was becoming unbearable so Shaggy began doing some Jedi techniques in order to shift the feeling of heat away from the body. He started to see some lights and he heard chanting. When he heard the voices, he was struck cold from within. Even in a place as hot as this, it felt as though his heart was frozen. Something inside him told him he had to continue.
The passageway became more illuminated as Shaggy followed it further down and the chanted continued to increase, not only in volume but in intensity. As Shaggy came around the corner, he looked out into a vast cave. He was standing on one of many landings that must have been past lava vents. He was taken back by the immensity of the cave and sheer vehemence that the chanting was continuing.
Shaggy’s battle sense went wild and he hit the ground as a large molten rock flew over his head. He looked down and finally saw an old, deformed woman standing on a platform that was raised from the floor. One of her hands looked as though she had been severely burned and the head face looked half melted. The other half was covered with black and blue marks; the sure sign of a Nnightsister. She let loose with a cackle that sent cold waves over Shaggy’s body. He leapt down to another vent and as he came up, he was greeted by a force whirlwind that was pelting him with extremely hot rocks. He did his best to cover himself and using the Force, he dodged as best he could but several of them found their marks. It was enough to drive Shaggy off his ledge and he fell onto the same level that the night sister was on.
He used the Force to soften his meeting with the ground and he rolled up and reached for his lightsaber that was not there. *”Of all the times to be without it”* he thought as he prepared himself for the next attack but instead the Nightsister spoke.
“So you are the one he spoke of. This will be easier then I had anticipated.” She closed her eyes and began to chant again. The wind began to pick up again and Shaggy used the rest of the water in his water skin to dump on himself. It was enough for his hair and some of his arms but there wasn’t that much left. He rolled forward and reached for the witch but all he found was a wall of small insect like creatures. The swarmed him and in one large rush blasted Shaggy’s body. He fell to his knees and watched as droplets of his own blood began to hit the ground. He held up his arms and there were deep cuts from the insects.
The Nightsister smiled with her half melted face. “My pets are rather deadly are they not? You see they are bred by my clan as weapons. Their claws are sharp as a spears head and there is a twinge of poison in them as well. Soon your body will become so numb that you will not be able to even move and then they will feast on your body.” She raised one of her deformed arms into the air and the bugs followed he hand and as a swarm, flew up into the burning air. They came back down and she pointed back toward Shaggy. Shaggy was on the ground and used the Force to brush some off to the side but the vast majority of them got through his defenses further cutting him.
Shaggy flew back and hit the wall. He fell back forward and noticed he was at the feet of the Nightsister; her disfigured body standing in front of him mocking him. “Wha... why are you doing this?” Shaggy pushed the words out his body. The venom was starting take it’s toll on his body. The Nightsister put her head back and laughed. She bent down and grabbed his face. Her misshapen hand was now being covered in his blood and she looked him in the eyes. One of her eyes was covered with a filmy substance which meant she was probably blind in that eye. He other eye was black as night and looked lifeless. She licked her cracked lips and said, “My clan was the ones who not only killed the last male rider, but we captured his beast and sealed it here. But before the rider died, he spoke of one who will come to claim his legacy. Since them we have stood watch over this place to make sure the rider’s legacy stayed buried in this place. Not that it matters anyway. Only the one who is destined to take the mantel can call the beast from its slumber. You will only be the next in the line to die.” She took her hand and grabbed Shaggy by the hair. His body was numb and was hanging limp now. Breathing was labored and he was using much of the Force to keep his throat open enough to breathe.
She turned his head to see a large pile of bones in one corner of the cave. “That is your legacy. I will put you on the pile of bones and my pets shall have a feast.” She began to drag him there with a strength that was inhuman for a woman this old. Shaggy closed his eyes and thought of Araya, he reached out to her in the Force but felt nothing. He thought of the vision, the Jedi, the Future, the responsibility he had been given and something in him felt like it snapped. He closed his eyes and opened himself up to the Force.
He could feel it bringing in new life to limbs that felt dead and his head snapped up. From his gut he released a primal roar from stood up. The Nightsister came off the ground with him and was tossed like a little girls doll to the ground. There was still no real feeling in Shaggy’s legs but he stood there. He let the Force flow through him and he started to move forward when he heard the insects start to make their way back towards him. He prepared himself for the next attack when out from the back of the cave a thunderous sound bellowed form the darkness. The insects scattered and both Shaggy and the Nightsister grabbed for their ears. Shaggy turned to see a blast of steam come up from the ground and out from stepped a beast like nothing he had seen before.
It was a massive shadow at first but the more it moved through the steam the more giant the beast became. It’s eyes were a pale yellow with a black slit in the center. The scales were a smoky black and reflected the glow from the lava flows. It then brought off its back to enormous wings that stretched in the capacity of the cave. He shook its head and let loose with another blast from its mouth. Shaggy knew that sound very well. He had been hearing it every time he closed his eyes for last couple of weeks. He turned back toward the Nightsister who was screeching in fear. She tried to summon her pets but they had been scattered by the force of the bellow for the beast. The night sister stood and began to scream one name over and over again.
“Daer’Gunn! Daer’Gunn!” She screamed one last time and fell to the floor. Shaggy began to move toward the Nightsister when the beast made a loud snort and steam flew from its nostrils. Shaggy turned to face is and the beast bowed its head toward Shaggy. Shaggy walked up to it and put his hand in the middle of its nostrils. The second it touched it, he was taken back to his vision and he saw the face of the rider. The face looked like Shaggy’s only slightly older. Shaggy stood there in awe of the vision when the vision moved. It stepped out and away from the beast and stood next to Shaggy.
It raised it’s ghost like hand on put it on Shaggy’s shoulder. ”You will now take up the mantel of the Daer’Gunn, the beast rider. My legacy I pass onto you and you must pass it on to others. From this you will lead and you will survive. From this time on, you will be changed and you will take on my name. The name that drove the darkness from this planet so many years ago will not rest with you. Kneel.”
Shaggy went down to both his knees and felt the hands of the vision being placed on his head. ” You will lead those like you to victory and will become a force for the light. You will drive out the darkness and return the universe to justice and you will fight for peace. From now on you will no longer be a man of the past, now you are a man of a new beginning. Now rise Daer’Gunn and take your place on the back of your steed. He will take you back the one you love. May the force that guides you, be with you always. Good bye.”
The vision vanished and Shaggy stood. He felt like he was lighter then air and he was empowered. He stepped over toward the beast and it lowered itself to allow him to get on its back. From there it stretched it wings again and took to the air. It circled twice and flew up through a large lava vent. It exploded out of the vent and into the blue sky. Shaggy held on for dead life until he noticed that he was not moving very much. This was a trained beast and could keep him still. He touched the beast neck and pointed towards the southern sky. The beast let another roar come from its mouth and off to the south they flew. Shaggy felt as though he was dancing on air and he laughed with the joy of a child.
*”I wish you were here now Love.”* he said to himself as he heard some predatory calls in the darkness. The sun had not come up yet and this was the third night of his journey. As Kalja set the deceptively fragile-looking Mystic Aura down at the site that was to become the new academy she tried not to let a nagging thought bother her. “Academy number three in as many years… This is the one that needs to work. We can’t afford to keep moving.”
Through the Aura’s cockpit she spied a lone figure waiting for her outside. “That must be Faarel Blackthorne.”
A simple pull of the Force brought Kalja’s lightsaber to her hand before she clipped it to her belt. Hand crafted by Kalja herself and inscribed with elegant designs, the lightsaber seemed more a work of art than a weapon, which was how she preferred it. Even though she had accepted the need to carry it, it would only make her too happy if she never had to use it again.
Not likely, but it was a nice thought.
A panel of the ship slid noiselessly back as Kalja exited the craft before it closed automatically behind her.
“We meet at last, Faarel,” she said with a grin. “I’m Kalja Leidias.”
Through the Aura’s cockpit she spied a lone figure waiting for her outside. “That must be Faarel Blackthorne.”

Faarel looked over Kalja with a curious expression, before finally nodding. This must have been the individual Shaggy told him about. "Greetings, Klaja," he said. "I was told to expect you to be the first to arrive." He grinned. "I apologize if I know little about you, as I've been quite disconnected from the goingons of the galaxy until somewhat recently."
Faarel proceeded to sweep his hand around the area. "This is to be the location of our new Praxeum," he continued. "I trust the rest of the Council will approve of the location, once they find things placed and, perhaps, even built when they arrived. I expect the bulk of our supplies and workers to arrive shortly." Of course, by "workers", Faarel referred to Jedi, for the most part, as the construction of the Praxeum would be done both via labor and the Force.
He had not felt this connected to the Jedi since before Order 66. Furthermore, he had not felt the Jedi being this strong since before the Clone Wars. It was a good feeling, one that hinted at prosperity.

Kalja expanded her senses, reveling in the feeling of nature all around her. It was such a marked contrast to Coruscant that she had almost forgotten what it was like. Senses that she had repressed while on the city planet were allowed to roam free once again. It was like being able to breathe again after coming down from a high altitude. She could already feel herself start to relax in the surroundings.
“Well, it passes the first test,” Kalja beamed. “Coruscant had its benefits, but relaxing it wasn’t. I don’t know how the old Jedi Council could stand it there with all those thoughts and emotions coming at them constantly.”

Faarel shrugged. "I was never a member of the Council," he told her, observing the surroundings. "They denied my entrance." Which didn't bother him one bit, anyway, but Faarel didn't feel the need to express such a reaction. "During the Clone Wars, I was often found on the front lines. My last assignment was defending Coronet. Until it happened."
He became distant, but only for a moment. Faarel recollected himself, and looked back at Kalja. "I've been scouting the area since I sent out that message," he continued. "This place will serve our needs well, I assure you. Besides, I doubt it will be the only Praxeum of ours in the future."

Kalja nodded sagely. “The only reason my family escaped the Purge was because they left the Order in protest after the Ruusan Reformation forbid Jedi to marry or have families. I’m the first Leidias in 1,000 years to become a part of the Order again.”
“I hope you’re right about there being multiple academies, Faarel,” Kalja said softly. “I sincerely do. Helping to forge a new Jedi Order has not been easy. We’ve been attacked at every turn and forced to rebuild more times than I care to count. The taint of the Dark Side still runs strong in the galaxy.”
“The sooner this place is up and running, the better.”

IC: Shaggy had his eyes closed and his hands straight out to the side as he and the beast flew over the clouds. For its size, the animal’s movements were so fluid that at times, Shaggy could not feel it moving. If it was not for the massive movements of the wings and the occasional snorting through its nostrils, the beast was rather quiet. It did set itself down near a stream to drink and for the first time Shaggy got to see it in the sun.
It stood almost seven meters tall and was well over ten meters in length. Its smoky gray scales gleamed in the setting sunlight light some ancient armor and Shaggy got full look at its dimensions. The wings were huge and connected with skin in such a way that Shaggy knew that it could carry much heavier objects. Its eyes were a pale yellow color with a pitch black slit down the center. The snout oh the beast was not long but well defined by the large nostrils near the tip. It had four horns at the top of the head. The two closest to the center were longer then the others. The legs were muscle packed and had five toes on each foot, each one with a razor like claw at the end. The tail, which was long and muscular, had a small spade look to it at the tip. When Shaggy was riding the animal he would sit right where its long neck met the shoulders right in front of where the wings began.
The beast put its head in the water and brought up a mouth full of large fish. Its teeth cut through them and it feasted. The front fang were long and sharp no doubt used for close battle even though Shaggy could not imagine anything that would want to get close to this thing. It finished its mouthful and Shaggy walked up and put his hand on the nose again. The beast turned and faced him, almost bowing before the Jedi Master. Shaggy concentrated with the Force to try and to touch the animals mind and he found it suddenly easy.
“Dan’Ae said that I would find the beast I am in tune with. I guess you are it.” He said as he brought his other hand up under its eye. “I will call you Jiao, it means ‘loyal’ and you will be forever tied to my family. My children will know of your kind and yours will know mine. I don’t know how you are my friend but the bond between us runs deep. But the sun is setting and I would like to get back to my wife.” The beast dropped his shoulders to allow Shaggy easier access to his riding seat. With a flap of the giant wings, the two were soaring skyward.
They headed in the direction of the clans homestead. It was at the base of a large mountain and Shaggy could see that some were running from the outside of the camp. He felt a fear growing in the village at their approach. Shaggy opened himself to the Force and looked for Araya. He found her and gave her a large brush “hello” in the Force. Her initial shock and the relief was something that made Shaggy laugh. He would pay later for making her worry about him for these last couple of days. Her joy was mixed with astonishment as she came out and saw the beast. It came and circled around the middle of the camp and let out a long cry before it landed. Many sisters came out prepared for battle but Araya had called them off.
The beast landed and Shaggy hopped off and was met by Araya. Their first embrace was long drawn out kiss. She came and jumped in his arms and her legs hung a good nine inches off the ground. Shaggy held her up and gave her another big hug before putting her down. She stepped back and her face grew pale but a reassuring brush in the Force form Shaggy let her know he was ok. The others stayed clear of the beast and its tail. Many stared out it in fear, others in awe but it was clear an animal like this had not been seen for a long time. Then Dan’Ae appeared from her large tent. She motioned for Shaggy and Araya to come to her.
Shaggy turned and put his hand on the beast’s nose again and reassured it that all was good and these people would not hurt it. It let a snort out from its nostrils and laid down, curling its tail around its body. It then took its head and brought it around to meet the tail and it closed its eyes. Shaggy came and was lead in again by Araya. She stepped to the side and Shaggy got down on one knee before the elder sister. He bowed his head and looked up at her.
“You have done something that many have tried and failed and yet you were successful. Please tell us the tale of your adventure.” Shaggy started the story and told about the giant lava cavern and the battle with the nightsister. He told them about what the nightsister said and the “pets” that she used. For the first time that was brought back to Shaggy and he looked at his clothes. His blood had stained his clothes and there were still open cuts on his body. Shaggy looked at them again and he remembered the Force flowing through him and it must have pushed the poison out of his body through the cuts. They would heal and shouldn’t scar. As he started to continue his story the elder turned and grabbed something from a large chest the she brought with her. Shaggy finished the story and stood up. The Elder approached him and told him to have a seat by the fire. He sat on the floor around a small fire in the middles of her tent and she walked around him chanting. He closed his eyes and he could feel the Force swelling and ebbing all around the room. It would come in and Shaggy would feel it brushing against him and then as it moved away he could feel more of the heat from the fire.
This continued for another couple of minutes when the chanting came to an abrupt stop. Shaggy opened his eyes and the Elder stood before him with a medallion. Shaggy noticed that it was the same one that Daer’Gunn had on from his vision. He looked back up at the elderly woman and she said to him, “Now comes the ritual of change. In every Sister’s life, there comes a ritual of change. Your wife Araya went through such a ritual when she changed her name from Dani to the name she goes by today. Each one on this planet goes through a form of this ceremony at some point in their life. For you that time is now. Lie back and rest your head. We will begin by preparing your body and then you will be given a new name. In the preparation ceremony we will permanently marking your body as an outward expression of an inward change. Each one of us have gone through this as you can see by the marking on your wife’s body as well as my own.” She held up the emblem again and said, “This will be your symbol. It was the symbol of the beast rider Daer’Gunn and it will now become yours. Prepare yourself.”
Shaggy laid his head down on the ground and took some deep cleansing breaths in order to clear his mind and to focus his thoughts. The rest of the Elders from the mountain clan had made their way in and surrounded Shaggy. It was a large circle and began to move slowly back and forth while quietly chanting their spells in the Force. As they continued to do so Shaggy felt the first twinges of pain in his arm. He started to look to see what was happening but he found that he could not move his head. He soon realized that his body felt like it weighed as much as the mountain that they were in the shadow of. He finally relaxed and when he did he was brought into another vision.
He saw a war torn planet with fighting going on everywhere around him. He looked to the sky and saw starships raging again ships that he had only seen in holovids from the front lines. Then he saw her, GAIT. She flew overhead and rained down death and destruction from her hull and the ground was made flat under the weight of the fires. Then the darkness came again. It was the same darkness that he had seen from his first vision. It came from GAIT and moved over the land swiftly. The shadow moved toward Shaggy and he began to feel the coldness of death surround him. He reached for his lightsaber, igniting it; he stood against the shadow and yelled. But the yell turned into the roar that sounded like Jiao’s. It moved across the land like a sonic boom and in the after math, other lightsabers ignited and there stood an army of Jedi. Shaggy loud out a loud cry again and once again it was a thunderous roar but this time the other standing there joined in. The outcries that came from those around Shaggy shook the ground and the shadow stopped dead in its tracks. Shaggy took a step forward and as he did, so did the army of Jedi that followed him. They all headed into the dead center of the shadow and he raised his lightsaber to strike and the vision ended.
Shaggy sat up and looked around. The tent was empty except for the Elder, Araya, and himself. He started to sit up but his body was drained of strength. He looked to his right and left, trying to see if anyone else was there. Araya came and knelt down next to him. The Elder did the same on the other side. Shaggy raised his arms and noticed that there were bandages around his arms were the deep wounds had been from the Nightsister’s insects. Shaggy got up to a sitting position and then the Elder stood up in front of him. He looked up to her and she said, “Rise Daer’Gunn, rider of the Beast.”

A YT-2400 came into view in the upper atmosphere of Onderon above Iziz. Moments later the ship set down inside the city. The ramp lowered and Xavier Corwyn walked into the spaceport. He drew many gazes from bystanders nearby. His black leather jumpsuit with his lightsaber hanging from his belt and his long black hair wavering in the cool breeze made him a sight to see amongst the common people of Onderon. His face held many scars and his blue eyes were dark and cold giving him a dark and mysterious appearance.
He paid a dock official before entering the city and walking into one of the local cantinas. He sat at the bar next to a poor rodian. Xavier looked at the rodian and placed a few credits in front of him. "I need some information. I'll pay if you help me." The rodian was cautious at first, starring in the face of such a strange human.
"What you need to know?" The rodian finally said taking the credits on the bar. Xavier smiled at the rodian.
"I need to know two things, first where can I get some parts for my freighter, and second where can I find the Jedi?"
The rodian looked at Xavier questioningly and there was a short pause before he answered. "The merchant quarter is just down the street this cantina is on, any part you may need you can get there. As for the Jedi, I don't know. Are they supposed to be here on Onderon, I haven't seen any. Maybe you should ask a dock official." Xavier bowed his head slightly and placed a few more credits on the table before turning and leaving abruptly.
He followed the rodian's directions and arrived at the merchant quarter. He found a spare parts store and entered. The owner was a Twilek dressed in very fancy clothing. He looked over Xavier's sloppy appearance with disgust but spoke to him anyway.
"Hello customer, how may I assist you?"
"I need some parts to repair my hyperdrive on my YT-2400," He handed the owner a datapad. "The parts I need are on that datapad." The Twilek nodded and disappeared into the back of the store to find the parts. He returned minutes later with several components in his arms for a hyperdrive. He placed them on a counter and looked back at Xavier.
"1500 credits for the parts." Xavier looked over his credit account, even though most of the credits weren't even his. He had 1,700 credits left in the account. Xavier nodded and transferred the credits to the owner.
"You wouldn't happen to know where the Jedi are would you?" Xavier felt like an idiot walking around asking people if they saw a Jedi lately but he really didn't know what else to do. He felt the Jedi's presence on the planet but his skills weren't attuned to pinpoint their location.
"I don't think there are any Jedi on Onderon, none of them have been in Iziz at least. Best of luck finding them though."
"Thank you anyway." Xavier said taking his parts. He walked back to the spaceport and loaded the parts on his ship to be placed in the hyperdrive later. He walked back out and went over to the dock official. Where ever the Jedi were on Onderon it wasn't in Iziz and since there was no other city on Onderon they had to be out in the jungle. Still Xavier didn't feel like cutting through hordes of beasts to find the Jedi. He tapped the official on the shoulder, while he was working at his console punching in daily profits and ships that landed and departed.
"Hello again, can I help you sir?"
"I hope so, have there been any ships that have landed out in the jungle lately?"
The officer cocked an eyebrow but still turned around and pulled up the info. "Yes it so happens that several ships recently landed in the jungle. They must be some big game hunters or some such. I’ll download the coordinates they landed at to your ship’s navicomputer.”
Xavier’s heart lifted, finally a location. He gave the official a few credits and thanked him before boarding his ship. Xavier quickly started the ship but just before his hands fell on the controls the Sith Lord’s voice entered his head. “If they destroy me you will lose most of the powers I bestowed upon you. You will become weak again! Is that what you want, to watch another family die as you sit by powerless to save them?” Xavier knew he was trying to manipulate him but that didn’t make his words hurt any less. He just shattered Xavier’s emotional barrier, he almost thought about keeping the Sith alive for the power he would give Xavier.
But it wouldn’t be worth it in the end, maybe the Jedi could replace the strength he would lose. Xavier lifted the ship out of the docking bay and flew out over Iziz towards the lush jungle of Onderon. As he neared the coordinates the dock official gave him the presence he felt through the force grew and became more detailed. He saw only two people as he set down the ship, they had to be the Jedi. They had to be able to help him, the Sith was eating away Xavier from the inside out. If they didn’t stop him he would take Xavier over. He reached the bottom of the ramp and looked at the two people in front of him. “Are you Jedi, I need your help.” He tried his best to look as friendly as possible but Xavier never was a friendly individual.

Kalja watched the YT-2400 land with curiosity and just a small amount of apprehension. She had sensed it coming towards her and Faarel before it ever got within visual range and the closer it got, the more Kalja could sense that the person onboard was fighting an internal struggle. She could feel the taint of the Dark Side inside that person, but it was different from the feeling she got from a true Darksider. Whoever it was inside had not succumbed to the Dark Side yet.
The man, when he came out of the ship, attempted to look as non-threatening as possible as he addressed them. His effort was transparent to Kalja. Jedi were not fooled so easily.
“I am a Jedi,” Kalja answered him, deciding that it might be wiser to only implicate herself as a Jedi until she and Faarel knew a little more about the mysterious man. “My name is Kalja Leidias. What kind of help do you require?”

”Momma? Father? Wake up.”
The black-furred Yuzzem child stared down at his parents, the worry on his face clearly edging towards full terror. His mother and father did not respond. They laid on the tunnel floor, staring at the ceiling with unseeing eyes. The guards that had gunned them and the other rebels down had already left. The other slaves that lived in the caves slowly began to show themselves, making sure there was no threat before seeing what remained of their fellows.
“Momma?” the youngling repeated, reaching down to shake his mother. Tears began to form in his eyes. At just two years old, this was his first view of death. “Momma?”
A flash at the back of his mind made the child turn. Before him, as though appearing from thin air, stood a woman, pale skinned, with unkempt white hair and, though standing with the bearing of someone of age and experience, had few wrinkles on her skin. She looked down at the child- a child that stood, even at his young age, waist high to her- with eyes of pure white.
“My mom and dad, they-“ his voice caught. He stared up at the woman pleadingly.
“I knows, little one,” she said in an odd accent, lifting a hand to stroke the Yuzzem’s head soothingly. The child didn’t shy away, her clawed hand being similar to his own- aside from the lack of fur- and because, even as a stranger, he felt only love and care from her. “It shall be alright, now, little one.” She smiled, showing teeth that would have been pearly and perfect if not for the camp’s food and hygiene. “Der path is at an en. An a good path dey had. You’s is Vra, yes?”
The Yuzzem nodded, raising a hand to wipe his eyes. As she talked and rubbed his head, Vra’s fear seemed to fall away. “Who are you?” he asked finally. “What about me, now?”
“I?” the woman asked back. “I, I am Dam Phoo,” She kneeled down, grinning now. “But everyone call me Damn Fool, cause they’s think I’m a crazy one.” She laughed, and Vra smiled. He was feeling much better with the woman being here now. “As for you,” Phoo went on, wrapping her arms around Vra and picking him up with more strength than her physical age said she had. “You start down a new path,” she explained, turning away from the bodies and walking down another tunnel. She didn’t worry about the dead, as the slaves of the camp had rules for them and their possessions, rules Phoo herself had created and enforced. “An that will be the firs lesson I’s teach ya. All things in the universe, they choose day paths, follow day paths, till day end.” As she walked, she looked down at the child in her arms and smiled again. “Where one path ends, another begins. Always.”

An insistent warbling banished Vra’s dreams and pulled him back into reality. He stared up at the ceiling of his cabin for a moment, remembering where and when he was, before reaching over and- carefully- shutting off the alarm from the comm panel. He had learned long ago not every piece of equipment liked having a full-grown Yuzzem punching it.
“This is an automated message to all passengers,” the voice of the freighter’s computer said. “We are pleased to announce we have made reversion to real space within the Corellian system.” Vra chuckled at the slight edge of true happiness the AI expressed in that statement. He had known that the captain wasn’t fully sure himself when he spoke of his vessels safety and maintenance standards, which probably explained why the passage had been so cheap. “We are now under sublight power, proceeding on time for docking. Estimated time to dock, thirty seven minutes. Please be aware that local customs checks will be carried out. Any passengers planning to continue aboard to our next destination, Lexgr, Cyras system, please contact the first officer or purser to make sure all arrangements are taken care of. Thank you for traveling aboard the Mass Junket, and we hop you enjoyed your trip.”
Vra stood up from his bed- pads on the floor, really- remembering not to rise to his full height in the cramped space. He rubbed his eyes to clear them, then, as he always did on first waking, looked over at his meager possessions stacked in the corner farthest from the cabin’s door. He was the only one in the cabin- really just an unused storage bay- and anyone coming in would have tripped over him first before reaching the utility harness and holster, backpack, and sheathed practice sword, but it was a very old habit he would probably never lose. Satisfied, he began another habit of his, clearing away the pads as best he could, taking a place at the center of the cabin, and starting his stretching routine, a combination of warmups from almost half a dozen different martial arts styles he had been taught. By the time he was done, the ship was beginning it’s final maneuvers for docking, so the Yuzzem stowed the pads back where he had found them, donned his harness and backpack, and slung the sword over his shoulder.
As he stepped out into the corridor, he saw that the cabin next to his- which was really an empty closet- was open, it’s occupants stepping out to head for the docking port.
“Ah,” the little male Kushiban leading the family of four said as he saw the much bigger Yuzzem. “Looks like we made it safely, Mas- er, Vra.”
Vra smiled and politely ignored the mistake the smaller being had almost made. “Yes,” he answered, following the family down the corridor. “We should be thankful of that. And I hope we can be thankful for a speedy trip through customs.”
The father and his mate nodded agreement. As it was, with the freighter only carrying thirty passengers, the time spent in customs was minor, especially for those with little to no baggage, like Vra and the Kushibans. Once off the freighter and into one of the station’s corridors, the Yuzzem gratefully stretched up as far as his body could go, a very pleased growl escaping from his throat. The smaller Kushibans smiled, knowing they had had it easy on the freighter with their much smaller frames.
After a bit of navigating through the corridors, the passengers found their ways to the stations central promenade and began to disperse. Before Vra could head for the nearest information terminal, the Kushiban’s asked if he would join them for a meal at one of the local cafes. Knowing that he might upset his smaller hosts- most especially their children- Vra ordered a simple salad and fruit drink, and the Yuzzem chatted with the parents while the children tried to make faces or throw food at one anther while noone was looking. Most of the beings moving around the promenade and inside the cafes paid little attention to the group, though a few stopped and stared, probably wondering if the smaller four at the table were the bigger one’s meal.
“So, Vra,” the mother asked after the plates were removed and her children were distracted by the holodisplay at the table’s center. “Where are you going next? The surface? Or somewhere else in the system?”
Shrugging his massive shoulders, Vra tapped a command into the display’s controls. The children sat back quietly, interested in the display even if they weren’t the ones playing with it. “I don’t really know,” he answered as he brought up a screen showing a list of departure times for ships docked at the station.
“Why not?” one of the children asked. “You shouldn’t go somewhere if you don’t know where you’re going.”
Vra looked at the little one and grinned broadly, his big teeth drawing amazement more than terror from the two younglings. “I do know where I’m going,” he explained. When the children leaned forward, clearly awaiting more, he added, “Wherever the path takes me.”
While the little ones blinked in incomprehension, Vra continued to scan through the ship list. Eventually, he came to the listing for the Mass Junket, along with it’s destination, departure time, and registry information. He was about to skip to the next ship when he looked again at the registry number. 455-32SO-32 1-EN-DS. His brow furrowed at the last part, 1-EN-DS, which sounded familiar to him for some reason. After a moment of thinking about it, he shook his head and skipped to the next ship.
When the new name appeared, Vra leaned closer to the display. Another Beginning, the name read. His mind flashed back to the Junket. 1-EN-DS, he thought. 1 ENDS, one ends. He looked again at the second ship’s name, and his mind made the connection.
“Where one path ends, another begins. Always.” he said aloud, remembering what Dam Phoo had told him that first day they had met so many years ago.
“What?” he male Kushiban asked, cocking his head to side as he looked up at the Yuzzem.
“Think I figured out where I’m going,” Vra answered, quickly checking the Beginning’s flight plan. “I think I’m going to Onderon.” Though for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out why. Not that it really mattered.
Where one path ends, another begins, he heard Phoo say in his mind. Always.

"Its a very long story but..." Xavier noticed how crazy what he was just going to say would sound. He didn't have a choice though. "The spirit of a Sith Lord is trying to take over my body and destroy my soul." He frowned and looked a serious as he could. The Sith's voice screamed in his head at him. It sounded angry yet terrified. "NO! You fool they will never believe you. You can still be powerful, stop fighting me let me gain control I will slay the Jedi and her friend. Give in to me!" Xaier fought back in his mind raising invisible barriers to shield himself from the Sith. 'I will not let you win! You have failed, you will be destroyed and I will be free of your torment. Ha! Try to stop me now, YOU are the one that is powerless. Goodbye.' Xavier broke the connection and shut the Sith's voice out of his mind. His presense remained but his voice no longer echoed in Xavier's head.
The Sith bombarded Xavier's defences desprately trying to gain control of Xavier. What he didn't realize was that he was exposing his presense inside of Xavier. Xavier furrowed his brow as he focused soley on keeping the Sith out and remaining in control. "Please help me." Xavier pleaded to the Jedi and her companion.

Kalja smiled comfortingly, bearing witness to the internal struggle the mystery man was going through. “I believe you and I can help. I’ve encountered situations like this before.”
She moved forward and gently placed her hand on the man’s forehead, almost subconsciously sending feelings of comfort and safety as she did so. “There is a technique I can use to rid you of your Dark Side tormentor forever.” She paused as she looked him in the eyes. “What’s your name?”

The lanes of hyperspace dissloved into the small pinpoints of starlight, and in their midst was an old YT-1300. In the cockpit sat a young man in dark green robes with black trim. He was fumbeling arround with the cntroll of the old ship and soon on of the view screen's was filling up with information on the planet below.
The young man sat and studied the information on the planet below for a few moments. Then he sat back in the captians chair and streched out with the force searching for others who knew the ways. It took him only a few moments to find what he was looking for, other Jedi on the surface of the planet. They were located in an isolated region of planet. So he turned the ship over and slowly headed down toward the surface of the planet. This was just the first step of many to follow. For now he was commiting his life and soul to the Jedi order.

Onderon. The fertile blue and green planet filled the viewport, its lush forests and verdant jungles hiding the scars of history the planet bore. A strange place for a Jedi Academy, Caitlin Voss reflected, lounging in the pilot’s seat of the ageing Muurian freighter. Once a Sith stronghold, then a Mandalorian battleground; the planet bore a violent history to be sure, yet nevertheless in the centuries afterwards it had achieved an unlikely tranquility.
Sounds a familiar story, Caitlin thought ruefully, reaching up to subconsciously rub the scar that ran down her right cheek. Is this the Force’s idea of irony sending me here? With a lazy shake of her head she pushed that thought aside. The Force was just a tool after all, an energy field to be manipulated, light and dark simply a perception imposed by the user; the Force didn’t process a will of its own… did it?
Getting philosophical in your old age, women? And you haven’t even located the Academy yet, first things first don’t you think?
Closing her eyes, Caitlin let herself sink into the calming ocean that was the Force. Almost immediately she became aware of another presence at the edge of her perception, another ship not far away, a ship carrying another Jedi. Good, I hate being the first to arrive. For the time being she ignored the other Jedi, stretching out her senses towards the planet below, riding the currents of the Force. As expected of a jungle world the planet teemed with life, but for the most part it was primitive, animalistic; apart from in a single place where the whisper of sentient minds clustered together. That must be Iziz she realized, the only recorded city on Onderon, however after a brief moment she realized no Jedi currently dwelled there.
She stretched out further, and finally found what she sort. Two… no, she corrected, three presences in the Force; the first two almost masking the third from her senses. Looks like I’ve found the site of the new academy, well no point in wasting time, I might as well introduce myself.
Opening her eyes Caitlin reached for the familiar controls of the Muurian, banking her gently over to port and then diving towards the planet. Ahead, her scanner showed the earlier ship she had detected was on a similar course. She calculated she would touch down scant minutes ahead of the other vessel.
As the Muurian whistled through Onderon’s upper atmosphere, Caitlin’s thoughts briefly turned to what had brought her here. Originally the invitation to come here for the forming of a new academy had been extended to her husband, Ethan. However he was off chasing slavers on the rim, ostensibly as a favor to the Republic, but she knew that was just an excuse. As much as he loved her, and their daughter Ehlana, he always felt the need to be doing something, and more often that not it tended to involve an element of risk.
Adventure, excitement, a Jedi craves not these things. Hah!
As for Ehlana, she too was off on an adventure. Newly raised to the rank of Jedi Knight, she like so many before her had set off to find the true meaning behind what it was to be a Jedi. Therefore for perhaps the first time in a long while it had left Caitlin at a loose end, thus her decision to accept the invitation to the new academy on her husband’s behalf.
Okay, I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to make myself useful, but if nothing else I can at least give them a hand building the damn thing.
With a whine of repulsorlifts Caitlin brought the Muurian in low over the site of the new academy, noting the two craft already on the ground at the edge of the clearing. Gently, she settled the ageing freighter next to the two craft on what would fast become a makeshift landing field.

Studying the small group of very different beeings that gatherd there in the depth of the jungle amused him.
He had spent enough time in that nature now to seem like if he was one with it, if it wasnt from his skin and outfit.
Slowly his soft smooth pase brought him closer to them, his icy piercing pale eyes looking at them in both the Ultraviolet and the "normal" spectre. giving him a rather different view of them that they problably didnt have. Had they they would have seen the intricate pattern and variations of colours that covered the traditional umbaran shadowcloak that he wore.
It covered his whole body only showing his head and the one arm that reached out from the cloak. The arm revealed a cortosisfiber gountlet that also had a plate in the same material covering the back of his white hand.
In his hand he held a staff that was as long as himself from the shoulders and down. It looked rather plain and could easily be taken as just a electro/stun staff, with a silvery and white handle at the top. The handle itself almost looked like, for a knowing spectator, like the handle of a lightsaber, but had no visable buttons on it and no emittorfins.
Soft thumping against the grass on the ground was heard as the staff met the earth he walked on.
Many thought Umbarans was nothing more then ghostly illwilled mindtwisters, and in any other case they would be right, but this man although mysteriously spooky at apearence, genereate an aura of peace, and above al harmony with his sourronding.
He took his time, didnt hurry at all, he knew they would all have alot of time getting to know eachother.
Instead he locked his whiteblue eyes at the oncomming ship that landed.
He nodded slightly at anyone that laid their attention of the strange Jedimaster, but said nothing yet, he didnt need to proove himseld or impress anyone, he knew his part, he had known for a log time.
It was the very same night as Order -66 was executed and he lost both his former apprentice and his Padawan at the time, they travelled toghether when the Force made it clear to master Wi that he needed to leave for a far, far away place.
He left the care of his Padawan into the hands of he former student, with loving trust. The dark side had blinded him aswell, he did not know, did not see it coming.
Apearently the force had other plans for him, although he then didnt know what, he had meditated on that for years now, only knowing that he had to train harder, to make his form perfect.
This night was different.... he knew now... he knew.
He smiled a warm smile, and the fact that his lips was as paleish blue as the areas around his timple and around the eyes didnt change the warmth in his expression.
This odd group was in a fact his family.
There he stood, smiling quietly...

Kalja only paid enough attention to the incoming Jedi to know that they were there, trusting Faarel to handle the new arrivals. Xavier was suffering and she wasn’t going to prolong his anguish any more than she had to. The spirit exorcism technique would take a lot out of her. It was meant more for groups of Jedi to perform and there were few that could do it on their own. Even with the new Jedi showing up, bringing their minds into sync to do it properly would take some time - time she wasn’t going to force Xavier to endure.
The commotion didn’t bother her, if she could do it all those years ago during the Battle of Chisas, she could do it now. “Listen to me, Xavier,” she said to him. “Focus only on me. Ignore all the other distractions around you.”
She went deeper into his mind, preparing herself to unleash the light that would banish the dark. The walls Xavier had erected to keep the Sith Lord’s spirit trapped were impressive, but Kalja knew it would only be a stopgap maneuver as long as the spirit dwelled within Xavier. She could feel it already trying to find a way out - to take control of him. The Sith was a strong presence, but Kalja had encountered worse - much worse - during her travels.
“I won’t lie to you, you’re going to feel very weak after I’m finished. It is the inevitable effect of so much power leaving your body at once. This is a potent technique I’m about to use, so I need you to trust me.” She closed her eyes to better concentrate. “I want you to drop your mental barriers holding the Sith captive. I promise you, I won’t let him harm you. I ask only because I don’t want to have to go through your mental barriers to get to the Sith. If I did, there’s a small chance I could harm you as well and I don’t want to risk that if I don't have to.”

Xavier wanted to trust her, she was so confident and obviously much wiser than Xavier. Yet still if he lowered his barriers the sith would torment him more or worse yet take control of him and kill the Jedi. But there was something about her that made him feel safe in letting his guard down. Not like he had another choice. Xavier lowered his barriers quickly opening his mind to both Kalja and the Sith. Once again Xavier was forced to fend off the Sith now that his barriers were down, the Sith desprately tried to seize control. Xavier's resolve held firm though the Sith couldn't gain control but Xavier was losing strength whatever Kalja was going to do she better do it quick.

He needent speak to anyone to know what struggle that took place in the young ones mind and soul.
He knew what Kalja was doing even if he could not do it himself, he had studied the teachings of the aceient Odan-Urr for long, "the keeper" and he encountered threats many ways.
What he also knew was that one Master however strong in theforce could only be so stron on her own.
His piercing icyblue-white eyes turned directly on the pair that was involved with the struggle. Then slowly to the rest of the group.
his words where strong, and as the species he was born intos traits he also had the soundingghostly dark voice, but his tone was that of warmth and confident.
"A gathering indeed, let me great you all by joining one other so that our collective melts as one, for streangth and flow into the living force is greatly needed..."
He used his influencial Umbaran mind to gently not forceful or heavily at all get in with the strong flow of the Womans ritual.
His other hand came out from within the shadowcloak and he took his mighty weapon in that hand, he needed it not.
Then his right hand was placed slowly onto the othar Masters back, then he let his own flow go, he was as ever very concentrated and every fiber in him semed intuned with what was happening, he steard his own streangth and controll into her.
[Toghether...]
He had no use for more words, he just let her know that he was one with their inner fight and was giving her his strength in aid, she (Kalja) could drain from him, a proceedure that he knew could be very dangerous, but what better way to gain trust and to help others ,and that was what he had sworn to do...

Kalja could feel the other Jedi lending her his strength. It was a wonderful gesture even if she didn’t require any further power to exorcise the Sith spirit from Xavier. She sent him feelings of gratitude for his efforts and decided that she would take him up on his offer, as a thank you.
Drawing from her own stores as well as the mysterious Jedi, Kalja reinforced Xavier’s shaky position in fending off the Sith spirit before sending a wave of light to batter the dead Sith Lord away.
“Your influence is at an end, Sith Lord!” Kalja mentally spoke to the monster that had sunk his ethereal claws into Xavier. “No longer will Xavier be forced to endure your influence! You died long ago and it is time you returned to the ether of Force!”
The Sith Lord gave a wordless yell of rage as he tried to fight back, but Kalja’s ability, reinforced by the other Jedi, was more than potent enough to match the spirit’s own. An aura of power glowed around Kalja, white hot in its intensity, as she forcefully expunged the foreign Dark Side essence from Xavier’s body and soul. She could feel Xavier weaken significantly as he went through the terrible withdrawal of having so much power suddenly leave his body.
The purifying light Kalja emanated dissolved the spirit on contact as it tried to flee from her, but it was already too late. The remains of the Sith Lord were easily overtaken as the light burned away his darkness, reducing the spirit once more to the very makeup of the Force and sending him once and for all back to the ether from which all things were created - never to be a threat again.
When she was done, Kalja took a deep breath to steady herself after such a large display of her power, even reinforced as it was by the other Jedi. Kalja wasn’t done quite yet though as she tried to help heal Xavier’s fragile state after being exorcised. There would only be so much she could do for him, but Kalja wanted to at least help him through the worst of it.
After she was done, she finally spoke aloud to him. “It is done, Xavier, the Sith Lord is gone forever. You’re free. I’ve tried to heal you after your withdrawal, but I can only counter the worst of it. You’ll still need a day or two of rest before you start to feel like your normal self again.”

“Rise Daer’Gunn, rider of the Beast.”
Those words rang in his ears. He gathered the Force to him and used it to steady himself. He looked himself over as though he was looking at the world with new eyes. Araya stood there and radiated in the Force. Dan'Ae faced him as strong as the mountains against a storm. She looked him up and down and said, "This new name is a sign that you have indeed changed. Also you now bare the mark for the beast riders."
He looked at his arms and finally noticed that one bandage was bloodier then the others. He unwrapped his bicep and looked in a mirror. It was the same image that was on the medallion that Daer'Gunn wore around his neck. It was a symbol of the beasts that they rode. It was just it's body in the form of a "S". This was red but outlined in a black with yellow highlights.
He smiled as he looked it over. The rest of the bandages would come off eventually but this was something he had wanted to see. He turned back and bowed deeply toward the Elder. "I am forever in your debt. Your guidance has answered many questions and silenced many doubts that I had about my positions and more importantly, myself. I can now return and lead in the way that I should and in the way that only I can."
For the first time that he could remember, Dan'Ae smiled. She looked at him again and said, "I have also gathered three of our most powerful and gifted young women. I would like them to travel with you and be trained at your school. They have dedicated their lives to the arts of this Force that you speak of and they will return and make us stronger."
"I will accept these students and they will be trained as defenders of truth and justice through out the universe. Of that you have my promise." Dan'Ae bowed her head and walked out. Araya came and hugged him from behind. She opened herself to the Force bond that had been created between them and found him there waiting for her. This embrace was not only physical but it went to so many different levels Force, that it made his legs a little weak. He gathered himself and turned to face her.
"Gather the rest of our things and meet me outside. I have someone I need to say goodbye to and we need to collect the new student’s things. I will meet you down there at the shuttle and then I must send a message to Faarel." Araya nodded and turned to get the rest of their belongings together. He walked out and was met by the students. Each were tall, strong, and were ready to go. He informed them to meet down at the shuttle and they were already on their way before he had fully finished.
He turned to see Jiao still lying there. The beast raised its head as its master approached. He places his hand on Jiao and through the Force spoke to it. *"For now I will set you free my friend. I will call upon you again in the future but where I am going, you can not come. I think the shuttle will be a little cramped if you try this time."* Jiao snorted and stood up. He raised his head up and roared right before he took to the sky with three pulses from his powerful wings.
"Good by my friend. I will not forget you." He said as he turned to head toward the shuttle. As he walked down the pathway, many of the sisters and their husbands or slaves came to the doors of their huts and bowed their heads as he walked by. He bowed his head in return and felt a great swelling in the Force. He reached the shuttle and was met by the little grey R4 droid Smoke. "Hello my old friend. I need to speak to Faarel. He is on Onderon and I will need to speak to him to let him know it is time for my return." The droid made his usual whistles and spurts as it rolled toward the communication center. It plugged itself in and made a whistle to say the connection was established.
The field was blue until the face of Faarel showed up in the hologram. "Master Shaggy it is good to see you. You look like hell." he said with his usually dry humor.
"I am fine and am ready to come home. I will save the entire story till we are face to face but I have gone through a change. Discovering something monumental about myself and who I really was in the Force. Oh by the way as part of the change I have a new name." Faarel made a confused face. "It was part of the ceremonies that I went through. My name is now Daer'Gunn and I will explain the rest later. May the Force be with you." Faarel responded with "And with you as well Master Daer'Gunn." The holo stopped and he sat back and took it in. He had never referred to himself as Gaer'Gunn before and it would take some time to get used to but he was ready for that. Daer stood and turned to see Araya at the door with their single bag packed. She stepped in and made a motion to Smoke. The droid let a long whistle out and the door closed behind Araya. They felt the repulsers start up and they were now bound for Onderon.
Onderon, a new academy and Daer'Gunn, a new leader. Was he completely ready for what was in front of him? No, to say he was, would be giving in to foolish pride and a false confidence. But now, he knew the Force had brought him through these ceremonies and trails for a reason. He had come out stronger, changed, and now with a confidence that was based solely in the Force. He would rely on it and the strength of his wife and friends to bring them through this fight. It would not be easy and yes there would be casualties. But he would never back down and never surrender to the darkness, never again.

Xavier almost fell to his knees after the Sith left his body. "Would you mind if I stay here then, just untill I heal of course." Xavier's eyelids weighed fifty pounds each and it took a great amount of willpower to keep his eyes open. Xavier felt so weak and tired, as if he just ran around the planet and stopped only once to breathe. If anybody proved hostile towards Xavier he was the perfect target now, he really hoped these Jedi were as compassionate as he was told.

When Kalja was done with the exorsism of the dark spirit, he let go of her bowed his head gently to her and closed his pale eyes, and breathed in a long breath as if he had held it during that short but dramatic event.
After standing there for a little while he opend the eyelids once more and looked into Kaljas wise pair of such.
"Master Vodo Siosk-Baas was wise when he uttered the words:
'A Jedi’s training in the Force never ends'...
truly i've been given the honour of learning today aswell.
Thank you Master Kalja."
He called her by name although noone had told it to him, his connetion with her mind was a strong thing and when she thanked his for the gesture of aid her mind revealed the name clearly.
He smiled once more warm and with a clear sense of harmony about him.
"My own name is Qidak Aaia, or if you wish Master Qi...at your service..."
He bowed again this time with his hole body and his smooth almost catlike movents revealed the fact that even if he was no youth any moore he surely was no old man physically.
He turned his bold head towards the new student, because surly that he would ecome, he could sense the search in him, the hunger for teachings.
"A word of thought for you aswell Xavi... the words of the great master Odan-Urr...'Don’t come to rely on the Force to the
detriment of your other senses and abilities.'... there are so many things in life to learn, learn about your own body and mind before grasping for more powers, that will aid you in life...”
He grabbed his unusual weapon in his right hand again and leaned on it a litle more loosly then before.
