Working on a post now! Although I'm curious, would Faye still be on the Jedi Council? Earlier in the thread it sounded like she had largely stepped away from the Jedi Order.
Now that she spent most of her time as a high society wife rather than training younglings on the Skywalker it was easy for people to forget she used to be a Jedi Master.
Of course, even if she's not, I could see her saying she is to try and intimidate "Sivter."

She might be serving in absence, or whatever it's called. ><

Or the position is reserved for her. It's a time of peace, so things may have been pretty lax. *shrug*

Oh my god, fething isn't actually a Star Wars curse word and I have no idea where I got it from. Did I just make up a word? ><

I looked it up. Apparently "fething" is a curse word used in the Warhammer 40K universe.

Not that it matters too much. Made-up curse words have a habit of universe jumping. "Frell" originated with Farscape, but it migrated to the Star Wars universe too. Our board has certainly used it a lot, but it's also been seen in official Star Wars media too.

Nothing too specific. My thought was that it would temporarily enhance their connection to the Force, but the downside is that it makes them even more mentally unstable without some kind of special training to handle that rush of power - which the minions would not have. Think a berserker archetype.

As for whatever powers, if any, they would use, I've got no preconceptions.

Sorry, had my head in a lot of cyberpunk lately. ><

Could be with training the effect is lessened, but still damaging.

Sometimes it's best to just get it down on paper and revise it later. Now I need to think how to continue with it.

On another note, I imagine that Kalja's mixed martial arts style (Teräs Käsi and Delth's unique hand-to-hand style) looks similar to Wing Chun as depicted in the Ip Man movies. Lots of efficient strikes, deflections, and rapid-fire punches. I think it fits well with her preference for Ataru.

I'm working off the idea that BD units are explorer droids and come equipped with scanners and sensors. While Mav did modify JD to help Cadence with her songwriting, I don't think it would have required replacing his primary functions to do so. I'd also say that JD has been around Cadence for about three days now and probably has a pretty good idea what her biometrics look like. He could also scan for any lifeforms moving away from the commotion in the event hall as that would be conspicuous.

That said, it is a chase. Depending on what your plans for Cadence are, Kalja doesn't necessarily have to be successful in catching up to them. Personally, I want Kalja to make the save because I'd rather not have her lose her Padawan during their first mission together, but it's your call. ;)

I kinda regret not having a plan. ><

Um... where's this guy going? He probably knows Kalja is tracking him, he's more likely to dump the girl than lead her back to whatever secret base they're at. Aaand if he doesn't, what then?

It's times like this I miss the thinking emoji, you know the one where he's rubbing his chin. >.>

Here's the thing: Trakan's operation was basically a failure. That's why Trakan got silenced. If the base isn't already destroyed, it will be soon enough.

I imagine your guy took Cadence to try and salvage something from the operation, but he probably didn't count on Kalja being so resourceful or relentless. I'd guess she's also probably gaining on him. Even combined JD and Sasha aren't going to weigh as much as an unconscious Cadence. Running from place to place is also something Kalja does on a regular basis, so this chase isn't going to be winding her any time soon.

Something else to consider: Delth taught both of his children how hide their presence in the Force when necessary. Kalja's not hiding her presence yet, but if she gets close enough, she just might in order to ambush Cadence's kidnapper.

Basically, the kidnapper made two mistakes: he took Kalja's Padawan and then he tried to run. :oldrazz:

Sasha has taken up a very protective position next to Cadence's face. I hope the case goes well!

I went ahead and moved us forward. The setup is ripe to have something to happen, either Cadence waking up or someone entering the room sitcom style. :oldrazz:

Hrmm, I'm not sure if Arilyn would be the type to tell jokes with a serious expression or if she's just super serious all the time. Like if Kalja Sairu had given her instructions as a joke she might follow them exactly to the letter... which one of those things is funnier? ><

Well... Arilyn's master, Chirushk, never joked around. Honestly, with Arilyn lacking a sense of humor or much of a personality, she was probably his ideal Padawan. Also, yes, I've decided that Chirushk has passed away as of the Legacy timeline - probably just a few years before the current year.

I could see Arilyn going on a journey of self-discovery after transferring to Tython. It's not hard to imagine Kalja Sairu subtly guiding her to expand her horizons.

BTW, what happened with Fiona? Did she survive after the War of Darkness?

I think I vaguely remember something about her and Arilyn merging to become one? So technically Arilyn is Fiona and vice versa. Maybe?

Either that or Fiona would be in some sort of asylum or hospital with doctors working to repair her psyche and cure her of her insanity.

One of those two things.

I think the idea was something like, Arilyn wasn't just a clone. Like Fiona's psyche was split in two to protect herself, or something. ><

If they merged then Arilyn would've had to spend a great deal of time in meditation as Fiona's insanity would have affected her and she would've needed to conquer it.

Either way, though, I really don't remember what my plan was. Only that I'm terrible at writing villains and Fiona's tragedy always made me feel fucking awful. ><

Personally, I like the idea of Fiona being locked up in an asylum somewhere. Maybe Oremin has set up a facility on one of the other planets in the Tython system where Arilyn can visit to try and rehabilitate her other half.

It seems to make the most sense to me from what we're seeing of Arilyn now. If she had merged with Fiona, one would think she'd have more of a personality.

Also, if Arilyn has been trying to help Fiona regain her sanity, it could explain why she's got experience traversing the mental plane.

That's a good question. Even if Fiona regained her sanity, she still murdered a lot of people. She'd have to make quite the case to be let go after everything she's done. On the other hand, giving a Sylarian a life sentence is quite a commitment... Oremin wouldn't be above executing her, but if they're going through the trouble of keeping her caged after all this time, then they probably see some worth in keeping her alive... or maybe Kalja pulled a few strings on Arilyn's behalf. ;)

Maybe if Fiona's sanity improves Oremin could work out a Suicide Squad-type situation with her? I have at least one other Darksider character that agreed to work for Oremin back in the final days of the War of Darkness. It could be an interesting premise for a thread.

Hrmm, iono... for now I will ignore it. >.>

In other news, I kinda wish we hadn't had peace for the last 20 years. A bit of tragedy in Cadence's life would be super useful right now. What's the easiest way to trap someone in a construct inside their own head? Trap them in a memory they don't want to leave.

I suppose if she was the super badass Jedi she thought she was going to be, maybe? Would be better if she lost a relative and found herself in a dream world where that relative survived only all her relatives are alive except probably her grandfather. ><

I did have one, thought, though. What if, um... shit, what name did I give him? Ah hell, whatever. Anyway, what if Darth Placeholder laid a trap for Kalja? We'll probably see what that looks like in my next post. ;)

Well, it might not be super tragic, but I got the impression that Akain wasn't around much when Cadence was growing up.

Cadi's brother also left the planet as soon as he could.

Caitlyn did her best to raise her, but she couldn't recognize Cadence's artistic talents or that she was being bullied - so add a mother who didn't understand her to the list.

Not the most ideal home life if you look at it objectively. :raisedbrow:
