Unusual Business OOC

Figured I should make an OOC now that the thread is going.

We are two days away from the retirement party.

Long work week is over! Now my brain can recover. Sheesh, hope I don't have to do that again for awhile. ><

I'll have a post up soon, probably early to mid afternoon? Of course, my afternoon is like midnight so technically it'll be tomorrow. :P

Only one note: unless Cadence somehow got married the night before, Faye should be referring to her as "Ms. Halomek."

"Mrs." is the abbreviation used for married women. ;)

Huh?

Cadence said, "Master Ward."

and Faye said, "Mrs. Halomek, or Faye. Call me Faye."

Last I checked Faye is married. :P

You're 100% right and it's too early in the morning, lol.

I think what threw me off is I don't think of Faye as "Faye Halomek" since everyone is referring to her as Faye Ward still. So my foggy brain thought that obviously Faye was referring to Cadence. Except that doesn't work either because Cadence is not a member of their family tree.

Too many new characters lately. That's probably it... :oldrazz:

Though in all seriousness, Colleen is changing her last name later this year because she needed to renew her passport early for a trip to Italy, and it's causing some funny shit at the post office sometimes.

Our mailbox has "Martin" on it and one of her friends got a return to sender because she put the maiden name on the letter like a dumb dumb.

Mir, before I get to work on my next post, are we getting a tiny fuzzy hitchhiker on the Windfall?

Part of my next post will be Mav inspecting the Windfall, so that would be the perfect time to bring a certain Salmurian into the thread if you're interested.

Grandsister? Cadence is not going to like that title. Makes her sound old. :P

Personally, I think Sasha calling her adopted daughter is more amusing. ;)

Kind of fits her personality better too, I think, with the whole "assist and protect" thing. And between the two of them Cadence is definitely the most childish.

I don't really have anything else in mind for what might happen next and I think we can kinda gloss over the whole touristy part. Sooo, unless you had something in mind for Kalja's investigation I'd say we're good to jump to the party.

Hmm... I don't know...

A Halomek family outing would naturally include Cassian. It might be interesting to have Cadence forced to face him on her own on some low stakes challenges and start turning their animosity into a more healthy rivalry. Then Cadence can have her big moment at the party to really show him up.

I just need to think of touristy places for families to visit. Maybe a giant mall akin to the Mall of America? Lots of stuff to do there - including a giant arcade. ;)

New post is up!

Since Mir never described Sasha as wearing any clothes, I took that as an opportunity to make Mav responsible for that outfit that she's wearing in her wiki picture. I hope that works!

Mir, Sasha's reply isn't critical to the story, but it would be nice to get a response there too.

Sooo, Mir, any consideration for a bit of role reversal? Have Sasha adopt Cadence this time? I think that would be way funnier. And trust me, she needs the supervision. ;)

Omg, I didn't even think of that interpretation when I wrote it. ><

That's not how he meant it, he's just confused. But I could certainly see how someone might take it that way.

For the record, Kalja Falanis completely missed Sasha's arrival during Cadence's birthday.

She was laid out from the spicy stew incident when they arrived with Tosh and then snuck out with Cadence after she recovered, so she and Sasha have never formally met yet.
