It's funny, I'm inclined to think of Aldar as being much older than Kalja because of his wiki picture, but he's actually only a year older than her (they're both in their fifties). Maybe he should move to Tython since something about living on Ossus is clearly stressing him out.

Jag, as far as I'm concerned you don't need to actually RP Aldar going back to Ossus and talking to the council. We can just have that all happen in the background and then have Aldar show back up on Tython some time later.

Is it possible to explore Tython? I sort of want the girls to get lost, run into Flesh Raiders, and need rescue.

Also, is the Forge accessible?

Well, there's a reason Kalja set up her temple on the continent of Masara: there's little to nothing on Masara that would be actively dangerous to her students or the colonists living there. That can't be said for the other land masses, so travel outside of Masara would be restricted.

For simplicity's sake, I'm working on the idea that any manmade structure on Tython from back in the day would be falling apart after several millennia of disuse, which would include the Forge. To get it working again would require some RPing.

I would also say that Kalja has been sending out qualified teams of Jedi to survey the other parts of the planet and see what can be done about them. My head canon is that Aaralyn Blackthorne is generally in charge of these expeditions (my nod to Ghost exploring Tython a bit before Kalja arrived there), but since Ghost isn't around these days, the actual responsibility would probably fall to another Jedi character... like Halak, or maybe Fen, or maybe just a brand new character created for the story.

So we could say maybe one of your characters signs up for an expedition to inspect the Forge. The girls would probably have to get permission to tag along. There would also likely be an Imperial security force attached to the expedition for protection and monitoring, so you'd get to have fun with Jedi and stormtroopers working together.

Well, the plan was for the girls to go exploring, get ambushed, and need Mira to save them (showing off her lightsaber skills a bit).

The Forge was so that Ori Dreel could make her first lightsaber, but I might let her use Aldar’s old one for a while. But they'd like to see it anyway, so the expedition idea would work.

Would that be possible/feasible?

There are plenty of ways to make a lightsaber without using an ancient crafting site.

That said, if you don't mind putting some time into restoring the Forge, I've got no problems with Ori eventually using it. We could have Mira volunteer to be part of the next expedition to the site of the Forge and have her get approval to have the girls join her. It wouldn't be too unthinkable since as long as they stayed with the group, they would be safe.

We could then have the girls slip away on their own without really grasping how dangerous Tython can be - or maybe there's some kind of incident that forcefully separates the girls from Mira?

We can make your idea work, Jag. We just need to figure our the best way to make it happen within the confines of the story.

I know that

I think I'll settle for the group joining the expedition out of curiosity, and have Ori use Aldar’s old lightsaber for now.

Then I'll have the girls slip away (they definitely won't realize how dangerous it is), which forces Mira to save them.

(It will also serve as the Trial of Skill for Alis and Reena, since I intend for them to be Knighted by the end of the story)

Btw, Mira and Nissha will both be there - Mira just have the esoteric powers thanks to the Sojourn, which Nissha didn't take part in.

Jag, I think the best way to lead into the quest would be for Mira to see Halak in the Dining Hall talking to another Jedi (Fen Palka) about an expedition to the continent of Talss (which is where the Forge is located). Halak would probably refer to the Forge by its original name of Vur Tepe, so I'm not sure what that would mean to Mira.

Anyway, you could have Mira inquire about the expedition and we could take it from there.
