Hey guys

Post by Kytross »

I see the new forum for stories in the Force Awakens timeliness. I think I might dip my hand in their and see what happens.

Any suggestions on where to start reading to get a feel for what's happening in the galaxy?

I think right now everything that's happened has been fairly isolated. No world shattering events like what happened before. I think the best source of information for what's going on in the galaxy right now is probably Wookieepedia. ;)

Sounds good. I will hit up the peddling Wookiee, and figure out what is going on.

I am thinking I will finally write a Jedi character. I have two possible explanations:

1) He was kicked out of Luke's Jedi Academy awhile back and became a bounty hunter.

2) His ship lost its hyper drive a few centuries ago and he has been traveling at relativistic speeds to the nearest planet. A year or so has passed for him but centuries have passed for everyone else.

Comments and suggestions are welcome. I'm in the brainstorming stage right now.

Ooh, that second one sounds really interesting... Too bad the tech gap between now and a century ago is like paper thin. >< Oh well, there's still the emotional trauma of everyone you know being dead or old.

Well, let's see. We're at 34 ABY. Palpatine was born in 82 BBY. That's about 110 years. So if a character was in relativistic space for 100 years then they missed out on the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War and everything that happened after that. They left a 1000 years of peace with an abundance of Jedi to arguably one of the darkest periods in the history of the galaxy, with the First Order beginning to rear its ugly head.

Anybody want in on this? If my Jedi saved a passenger ship from pirates then there would be room for all sorts of people

Sure, I'll jump in with a character.

It's basically Kevin every time he's sees little kids with all that newfangled technologies.

But yeah, jump in. If you need someone, I can help out as well.

You're old, beaten, and broken down. It's not difficult to drag you places.
