Okay, so I have the labels now I have a question. If it's a character that exists in both legends and canon do I need to create a separate article for each?

Yes. That's where the pain in the arse will be coming in, because in doing so any articles that linked to it will need to be updated. You'd need to move the article to its subpage /Legends and place {{Eras}} at the top. The code will automatically tag it as a Legends article. Then, on the canon article (which is where the Legends one will have used to be), you put {{Eras}} at the top, as well, and it will tag it as Canon.

For an example, just look at Cadden Blackthorne's articles.

Can't get the {{Eras|Legends}} thing to work, so I'll leave it for now.

Couldn't we get a banner for those exclusively Legends? That would be SO much easier.

Yeah, my biggest concern was the banner, because we need a way to distinguish between continuities. I'm not doing much else Wikia work for a while.

Just create a new article. So if you have a character named Joe Bob just create a new article named Joe Bob/Legends.

Either just make a new article with "/Legends" in the name or move/rename the article. You might not have the second option since I don't remember what non-admin wikia users can and can't do off the top of my head.

Also, tested this out on the Solace of Midnight, and everything works well. I'll have to start cleaning up the articles that will be carried over. But I won't be able to really get started on that until end of May.

Also note, new canon only articles do not require any banners. So, for example, the First Order will not require an {{Eras}} template. However, our "Legends" specific articles will need the "Legends" specific banner. The reason for that is to avoid confusion. Because our wiki follows the rule of default, the new canon is the new default.

I don't. I only tested it on the combination articles, as that was my focus at the time. If I get a chance, I'll throw it on a Legends only article and see what it does.

As I posted on the Proposal thread:

The only thing that I would add to this, is that if someone does include canon elements, whether they've spoken to the SC or not, they must make an Exodus wiki page for the element, so that we can keep track of what has been introduced and what has not been introduced. Furthermore, this will help track Exodus divergence from Legends or Disney Canon, allowing everyone to be more informed.

A wiki article on our wiki. Default articles are construed as Exodus canon.

I'm referring to something like the Alluuvia page. It's a canon planet, that had an Exodus divergence and it's denoted as such. Alluuvia

The "legends only" banner description on the Wikia doesn't work. We need SOMETHING to show if an article is legends or canon.

So I took a look into the module and template, and as much as it pains me to say this, everything looks right.

I bet I'm missing something, somewhere, however, that is causing it to not do what it should be doing.

I still need to talk to the Wikia main head-honcho admin team about implementing some code in one of our .js files to get rid of the linkage below the header of our "Legends" articles, anyway. I doubt it is, but the key might be in the same code for that .js file.

I'll keep looking into it. I'd rather see that as the resolution for the articles that don't have associations than create the banner for every single article we have. The goal with the banner was strictly to differentiate those that are our "Legends" and our "Canon" articles, like how Wook has it. I liked how they did the icon above the infobox, and tried to implement it when I did the banner. But, no-go, it seems. We'll see. I will prevail!

I will be honest and say that I didn't read the entirety of this thread's replies, but if it is the Legend/Canon template you want, Battlefront Wiki have a more direct template than Wook's and I can implement it into the SWE's Wiki. (I didn't made the template, just requested it for it, so I may have to tweak around to see how the template works, but that shouldn't take too long)

So, I've fixed the point of the redirect link under the page's title when we create Legends articles. However, this will not be implemented for a couple days, at least, as I'm still trying to find the source of the error that isn't giving us our page-identifying icons. It was my hope that the same fix for the redirect link would solve this issue, but alas, that's not the case.

I'm getting closer to figuring it out, however. I'm confident that, soon, the new system will be fully functional.

One issue: It only seems to work, if you have two versions of a character (canon and legends). Otherwise, nothing.

So we still need some way to identify canon and/or legends characters.

I think canon articles don't need a label. If it's canon there's no label, that's how it works on Wook, I think--pretty sure. >.> The label for Legends is working now, just added it to all my Legends articles. For things that are both canon and legends there has to be two separate articles tagged with the {{eras}} thing-a-majig.
