Yes We Are All Old Now, I Have A Question
[inserts the bit about how we're all older and have kids and how old they are and all the things life has done to us]
And it's good to see all of you! I'm actually wondering about archiving some things for later use - is there a function on the forums to say, download a thread, or have it emailed to yourself, or whatnot? Not just the link, but the content.

Without having an admin do it, and without writing a web scraper? Unfortunately not.
No clue if any of the forum admins check here regularly or not, or if they'd be willing to send you a backup via SQL or some kind of export. That also wouldn't really be "by thread," but just the whole table of posts (including moderator/admin forum ones, for example).
Otherwise, you have to do it the hard way. Maybe order some back-up Ctrl, C, and V keys for your keyboard now.

I don't know if this is available to everyone or not, but you might be able to use the "print view" feature in the thread tools. (It might just be a mod/admin tool; again, I don't know for certain.) Take note, if you can see that function, it only works per page, so a multi-page thread you'd have to rinse and repeat.
Otherwise, you can always fire it up in Chrome and do a print page function, Chrome lets you print to PDF. Again, you'd be looking at each page of a multi-page thread, so it'd be a bit of legwork, but you can at least work to consolidate everything after. *Shrug*
That's all I can recommend. A quick look at thread tools really just shows the one mentioned above, if applicable to everyone.

Re: Yes We Are All Old Now, I Have A Question
Thanks all, I am probably just going to grab what I want manually. The reason? I really like some of the more random posts I made as flavor/set dressing for the Star Wars tabletop I've been running. We're on hiatus so I have a chance to really build up a big backlog of ADVENTURES.
It's been a blast going through the posts and recognizing just where I was in life at each point. Glad to see some of you are still checking the site sometimes! Some of these threads have a LOT of views on 'em!
