Green Squadron: First Mission

"First, I want to remind you all that 'officially', we are still a part of the New Republic Military, so protocol's are still in place...which I know means nothing to most of you, but we will follow them." This got a few small chuckles from some.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Mir, but it is my understanding that we might be on the fringe of vigilantism, but this is still supported by the New Republic, at least those parts of it that know about this fleet. On paper, it might look like all these ships, personnel, troops, etc are assigned elsewhere, decommissioned or otherwise "unavailable", but resources are still be funneled in to make a clandestine fighting force.

I also took this to mean that this is an entire fleet operation, not just one squadron against an entire Imperial navy, so it would stand to reason there are support craft, at least minimal (but probably elite) ground troops, and all the other necessary pieces if this strike force that is going to be doing more than just minor harassment missions.

Although this hasn't been said, I feel that there is an implication that the Green Squadron members were not picked solely for their piloting skills, but also for other skills and abilities they may have. They are intended to be a bit more well rounded then just average pilots.

Yes, that is correct. We are as much Wraith Squadron as we are Rogue Squadron.

Sorry, that's my confusion. When we were starting this I had the impression it was going to be much smaller than it is. More Wraith and less Rogue, or something. >.>

That...was the reasoning behind my issues in the old OOC that got me and Nich on separate wavelengths.

We are starting out as part of the NR, but we will, after a major turning point, be fully independent, and at that point, we will be scrounging and scavenging for parts and supplies.

So enjoy that standard issue New Republic breakfast porridge ration.

Sorry for the little hiatus on my part. July was a 'trying' month for me. I will get a post up tomorrow to get us moving again, and have a fun little first battle with the new Green Squadron.
